Round "Play" sequence

Post by Odelay » Tue Feb 16, 2010 3:34 am

First off, I have no idea on what is possible programing wise, but here we go.

I know every round happens at the same time, but sometimes for me it can be a bit overwhelming. I would love it if when you re-join the game after a round it were played out a bit. Maybe just a slight pause for taking empty territory, and a short battle sequence for combat. Nothing fancy, perhaps that's where some cool sound could come in to simulate a battle.

If you don't want or need to see it, a skip button.

I am bad with words so I dunno if I explained that well. Thoughts?

Yea, I've thought about this in some different ways.

End of round in normal single-player games even, now it just flashes some countries red, and advances. Is that enough? Would it be better with some more animation through each individual battle?

Having knowledge of previous rounds would be cool too, so you could jump back and look at what just happened. Especially when re-joining longer time games, this would be cool.

It doesn't even really need to be animated, which would be pretty neat, just a red flash one battle at a time rather than a massive change.

Round history would be really cool! No idea how it would be displayed though.

I must say, I love it. Draws the eye right to the action!
