I've put up a new room testing out the added Capture The Flag game mode! Come join the Hex Joust room and let's test it out...

So...thoughts? What did you all think of the first game?

I enjoyed it. It was a fun twist on things. Didn't drag on which I like!

The way the teams are placed on the map, there wasn't much possibility of working with my team-mate. It felt pretty solo style.

The map seems really fun, when are you going to release it for download'?

You are able to do on here, what Lux wasn't able to do for their Survivor tournaments, End the game and record the winner once the flag was captured. I think it'll bring a whole new element to the game. Our own little Survivor edition

So just curious, what are the future plans for the capture the flag style games?

Future plans call for capability of each team to start with a flag. Working up a map to show-case this... and also gonna try and make modded versions of some existing maps to have CTF versions. Gonna be available in February, sorry for the delay...

Yeah, giving players individual flags could be useful. The way I picture it working is that a player who loses their flag (or all of their flags, if they have multiple) would be immediately defeated, or at least be incapable of producing new units. This means that regardless of whatever minor castle or factory they happened to snatch along the way, that won't save them from annihilation should their "capital" fall - a fairly realistic idea in some instances.

Suppose, however, that one player on a map with such flags did not themselves have a flag. Perhaps they would then be uniquely free from that constraint, much like how the Russians did not need a capital to continue fighting Napoleon. Just a thought.
