I'm only trying to save your computer keyboard from a life with broken shift keys.

(Both teams had turns with incredibly good and bad dice in that game.)

Nifty tool to help captains and lieutenants coordinate playing times with their teams and competitors across time zones can be found here.

Example here.

THE SURVIVOR ROME MAP HAS BEEN UPDATED.

(Theme tweaked and some stars were moved.)

Please make sure you manually update the plugin, quit your Lux app, and relaunch.

IMPORTANT IMPORTANT IMPORTANT:

Rome and Carthage income has been reduced from three to two.
You don't need to crash either city in the first three rounds in order to win.
Also, Hispania, Northern Italy, and Southern Italy were reduced by one as well.
Please take a moment and study the bonus screen before playing.

(Should look like the image below.)

Maybe an update (leaderboard) that points fingers at the teams that haven't shown up to play yet? I mean... this is a HUGE part of Luxtober... lets get this game on!

As I mentioned a few days ago, I will be posting a complete leaderboard tomorrow. Furthermore, I've decided that captains will have a 72 hour window — Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday — to boot one or two players from their teams, then name replacements pending approval. (Do not promise recruits a place on your team until you've spoken with me.) Also, players must play at least one Survivor game to qualify for the tournament. Not ten, not five, not even three. Just one. Any player who fails to play one game will be dropped from their team roster, and their individual accomplishments will not count toward their team's seeding for the final games.

(Playing one game in two weeks is a very, very low threshold.)

I would like to take a moment and thank the Meticulous Bonzai, and their captain Milltycoon, for going above and beyond the call of duty in the last few days. They've played all but one of the Survivor games thus far, and quite frankly, without them, the opening of this event would have been a bust. I really don't know what I can say or do at this point in order to encourage other teams to pull themselves together, and show up ready to play.

(Bravo, Bonzai.)

In years past, Survivor was always been a difficult tournament, in terms of coordination and participation. Usually, half of teams would wash out and never compete. The "finals" would consist of the three or four teams who didn't give up before they started. That is why I chose to organize this year's event with fewer but larger teams. I figured eleven or twelve crew members would ensure that three or four would be online at any given time, especially with two leaders clearly assigned to help organize their teams. Frankly, I'm not sure I made the right choice.

By now, all captains should have been in communication with each of their team members, and sorted out some reasonable time frames — specific four hour windows would be good — when all could certain that teammates would be online. Such time commitments could be posted in this thread, or shared with other captains via PM, so overlapping schedules would become obvious, and head-to-head matchups could be planned ahead of time. (Teams who didn't follow through would be given forfeit losses.) It's not too late for captains and teams to get out there and kick some ass. All you gotta do is show up, Luxers. I'm not gonna drag everyone kicking and screaming. It's on you.

The battlefield is waiting.

UPDATE: The SURVIVOR room now has an autobooter for unregistered players. Also, the autobooter for AFKs has been turned off, so team members won't be thrown outta the room between games. No one will have an excuse for running amok while I'm trying to organize the next game, or push results into the forums and rankings page, so please, don't fool around after a game's been won. Finally, team chat rooms are ready, but be careful, no one can guest into those rooms for any reason. Please make sure you join as guest only. Why have I done this? So games will never be played in those rooms, and they'll remain on the bottom of the list in the game tracker, and not distract other players from games in progress.

(Thanks.)

There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a BONZAI. Moses saw that though the BONZAI was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight—why the BONZAI does not burn up.”
