Memory leak in Ancient Empires Linux
Memory leak in Ancient Empires Linux
I just upgraded to the 6.5 package and was checking to see if everything was working properly. Both Lux Delux and American History Lux are working correctly. Ancient Empires, however, is acting like a runaway process, consuming significant CPU cycles and taking all available RAM. It started lagging significantly as my system started using up my swap.
The CPU and memory usage start as soon as the game is opened, so it's not related to actual gameplay.
I do use my own locally installed JRE instead of the packaged version.
Arch Linux 4.5.0
Ancient Empires v 1.1 full
Java 1.8.0_91 (64-bit)
There are no error messages in the log:
Ancient Empires Lux version 1.1 full version is now starting under user barthel
-> OS: Linux 4.5.0-1-ARCH amd64
-> VM: 1.8.0_91 / 52.0
-> MRJ: null
-> home: /home/barthel
-> working: /home/barthel
-> support: /usr/local/games/LuxDelux-6.5/AEL/Support/
-> default encoding: UTF8
CampaignOptions.currentMapIndex is now equal to 0: Sumerian Empire
refreshMapButtons
AnimationLoader: Starting background load
AnimationLoader: Finished background loading
quitGracefully()

Re: Memory leak in Ancient Empires Linux
Have you tested it with the packaged JRE as well? It's kind of impossible for me to recreate your setup if you're using a different JREBarthel wrote:I do use my own locally installed JRE instead of the packaged version.
