Menu Language Problem
Menu Language Problem
Hello
I have a problem with the menus in Lux Delux. This picture should show it:
I have the game on Steam and it is up to date. My Java is up to date. I am on Windows 10.
I tried validating game files, that didn't work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, that didn't work. And I tried changing the language options in the game and that didn't work either. It would change the language in the game but not in the menus.
These goofy characters show up in territories' names in the game as well.
Can anyone here help me?

Re: Menu Language Problem
Hmm, do you use any non-English languages on your computer?
Trying to suss out if it's actually a language related issue, or it could be a file encoding issue potentially.
Deleting the jre_private folder inside the Lux install folder is something else to try (will make certain that the system java is being used)

No, I don't use any other languages for any other programs or anything.dustin wrote:Hmm, do you use any non-English languages on your computer?

I tried deleting the folder called "jre8_40_private" but it didn't change anything.
When I first installed Lux Delux it was fine. This problem showed up later, I can't remember when.
Re: Menu Language Problem
Oh, I figured it out. Well, sort of.
I use a font called "Sitka Small" as my default windows font, because I hate sans serifs. This can be seen in the title bar of my Lux Delux screen shot that I posted. Anyway the font seems to effect Java so the wrong character set shows up in some cases. I changed my font to something else and the problem went away. But I love my Sitka Small font so I put it back. Poor Lux Delux will just have to have ugly menus, oh well.
