Timer on Bio Maps

Is there a reason the timers were increased to 35 seconds in 2 of the bio rooms? I think 30 seconds is plenty and speed should still be a skill that is promoted. Especially if 33% of the map is missing. Just curious.

I also think 30 is more than enough.
I know that only contoleola and george874 are always asking to put it up to 35 or even higher.
Maybe one of the mods put it up on their request.

I tried to bring it back to 30 sec but george874 went crazy.

I would say if a majority want 30 sec, lets do 30 sec?

i like 35 seconds. I'm a little older and slower. there are 2 other rooms set to 30 seconds. PJB should not come into a working room and change the time setting at his own pleasure when people in the room never asked him to. Both my self and Landlord requested 35.

Thats the thing george, it has been requested many times. Bio Deux has never been really hosted on 35 seconds.

NOT while i was in there. And everyone knows, I play quite a bit. Again, two other rooms are at 30 seconds; if they want to play in them. There also should be one room set to 35, for some of the older and slower players. 5 extra seconds helps me,,,,,,,, and I'm sure it does NOT hurt other players. You as a MOD, PJB ; SHOULD try to accomidate all players, not , just what u want.

Agree with both of Big Will's points. 35 seconds is an absolute ETERNITY and makes bio a lot less fun imo. Right now the only 30% continent room is at 35s which is not the norm. Hope to see it get changed back to 30 soon.

And what is the point of a certain someone who seems to live to troll people and post on every subject under the sun in these forums??

I see no problem in having different settings on different rooms to fullfill everybody's wishes. Twitch can be challanging fun, but longer timers for us old players and also for new players is also a valid Point (rather a longer timer than faults by Panic moves resulting in halfkills).

IMHO is also valid to discuss about settings and ask for changes. Here in the forums as well as in the chat when a mod is around.
I don't think it is necessary to get agressive vs each other just because of different oppinions. Will's post is a serious question and worth a discussion. I see both points (people requesting longer timers while others request short timers). We have to find either compromises or set different settings in different rooms. We mods try to listen to the wishes of the majority, but please understand we cannot fulfill each single wish.

A personal note: Rogue, you may find your posts funny, but they actually don't add anything useful to the forum thread and in the masses you post them they are even not funny any more. People here are annoyed by your actions posting more or less funny pictures and comments in nearly each forum thread. You are always welcomed to contribute in a helping way. I know you can do better than just trolling.

Forum rule number 3:
These forums do not exist as an outlet for constant/repeated negativity. They are not a place to unnecessarily provoke or fuel arguments, or to contribute random jibberish just for the sake of watching your post count rise. No "trolling" or "griefing" please

It seems like some players prefer 30s and some prefer 35s.

Makes sense to have some rooms set to each, and let luxers choose where to play.

THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT IT WAS BEFORE THIS THREAD EVEN STARTED. It seems there is/was a faction who wanted the 35 second rooms eliminated. There is both choices and that is all that i requested.

THANK YOU.

The issue was that the two popular settings 30%/15^ and 20%/15^ were both set to 35S. It has been addressed and I think we can all agree on options.

I will change a room to 35 upon request and have done so a number of times. It's pretty easy to do it comfortably when there are several rooms with the same map, like with deux. I would hesitate to mess with settings too much in a solitary room unless I had particular expertise and experience. I actually find it hard to care about whether 30 or 35 is better. start getting up to 40+ and then ew.

Agreed! It's not like there's such a demand for the rooms that one can't be set at 35 seconds. I really wish PJB were capable of considering players other than himself in using the "modly" powers dustin saw fit to grant him.

Can we get a 20% 15^ 30S map for Bio? These are decent settings to avoid marathons.

Thanks!

Maybe someone else was just faster, but actually there is a BioDeux extreme room with exactly these settings actually (Europe host).

I will open a new separate thread for map/setting requests in future, where everybody can ask for special settings/maps.
