Background new-internet-player notice

Post by Nikolas » Fri Nov 14, 2003 1:41 am

It seems there could be a notification when someone wants to play a game with others (say when they are hosting with no guests) but they have the game in the background (working :) on something else) and someone joins and wants to play a game.

Chat window (when not drawer) could float (above all other open applications) so someone could monitor incoming players while working in another program.

Maybe there could just be a /[command] that would chime or something in the host's computer to let them know you want to play.

The host computer always plays a chime when another user joins. Anytime a chat is sent a little sound is played as well.

True - but people join without actually wanting to play all the time and it is frustrating to stop what you're doing and click over to see what they have written (because the chat window doesn't float -- which I still think is a good idea). It would be less complicated if there was a /[command] for 'is there anybody there-I want to play'.
