Why do bots not start last to act?
Seems pretty obvious to me that bots should never start before a human. How difficult would it be to have them start last in the order?
Re: Why do bots not start last to act?
The bots are already discriminated against enough.

This wouldn't be that hard to program. It's an intriguing idea...
There's also the "network player only" player setting, that gives room for humans to join, but is otherwise empty. How would you feel about '4 players: 4 human no bots' game versus a '6 players: 4 human and 2 bot' game?

I like that idea; why have bots at all unless there is only one person I suppose

I feel like bots are good only bc they add more cards to the game, something that 'network player only' couldn't provide.dustin wrote:This wouldn't be that hard to program. It's an intriguing idea...

Allowing the bots to act last (a host option I think, just in case a super bot comes around and can be thought of as a considerable opponent) would prevent one bot from suiciding into another player on round 1, ruining the chance of that human player.
I've found that acting last in a 2 bot game can be really quite brutal if the bot wishes to contest the income that your armies are also placed.

OK, yea, could make for an interesting host option.
Do you not consider Reaper a competitive bot??

Since you ask, no, no I do not. I'm sure it's competitive against other bots, but reapers still do some pretty random stuff and ruin the games of some unlucky humans. Like reaper will cash, then half kill another player to take income when its not worth it for reaper. Then the game ends bc reaper just half killed someone.dustin wrote:OK, yea, could make for an interesting host option.

I actually now use trotsky's in my host bc when a trotsky takes over for another human afk, it's reallllllly hard for a trotsky to ruin a game and do something totally random.
