Sorry for the late reply, but which Castle map are you referring to?

Sorry, I like the map and it is a lot of fun, but I don't think it would be a good choice for MOTW.

I have received a request to change away from Avant for next week because the map is too large. I try not to change maps the week before their scheduled debut, but if others feel that Avant is too large for MOTW, please raise those concerns now and suggest a possible alternative

Alright I'm switching Avant for Babylon

And please if anyone has objections to chosen maps, please bring them to my attention at least 2 weeks before their scheduled debut. The reason being is some players like to practice on the next weeks MOTW (especially if they don't like the current one) so changing it up at the last minute is annoying to those players.

Just saw this now MB. Could I suggest Hot Gates II in place of Babylon? It's considerably different to the original, hopefully faster to play. Hard to say for sure but I've a feeling Babylon might marathon.

Ok starting on June 06 we will officially open MOTW up to repeats that have not been MOTW in the last 3 years. So you can now request maps that have already been MOTW as long as they haven't been MOTW in the last 3 years. Repeat maps should also be ones that were somewhat popular their first go round, so if you request a repeat map that had less than around a 5% play rate, then most likely we won't accept the request.

Thank you

ok, so most likely, nobody needs this, but here is a list of all past motw maps. and, the closest to 3 years ago is Rapa Nui go down from there. And, will we be able to use maps such as Roman Empire 2? And, I assume maps like bio can't be used cause they are classic based, right?

edit:spelling
edit: question about bio motw

I would argue Rome and Bio get plenty of play and do not fit into the description of why there is a MOTW, so I would vote no for those...

Correct Kude, still no classic variants.

And yes Rome II is technically eligible again, but jesterme makes a very good point.

May suggestions for MOTW maps ...

Post by GFips » Thu Jun 09, 2011 8:15 am

Hi Mark,

here are some MOTW maps i would like to play again (i never played them, because i was not even a baby luxer at that time, but i think they might be nice to play, whithout watching them to deep).
In general i would also like to see some Castle-Maps at the end of the year in order to promote already Snypers next castle tournament. Snyper will surely be able to suggest some maps.

So here are my votes for maps who should become MOTW a second time:

U.S.A. War Zone
February 12-19 2007
Map got 578/3865 games
14.95% of weekly play

---

Roman Empire II
December 11-18 2006
Map got 707/3907 games
18.1% of weekly play

---

Anglo-Celtic Isles
September 18-25 2006
Map got 582/4351 games
13.38% of weekly

---

November 14-21 2005
Spacestation Lux
Map got 899/3370 games
26.68% of weekly play

---

Monopoluxy
August 21-28 2006
Map got 677/4217 games
16.05% of weekly play

---

BattlePlanets - Hegemony of Sirax
October 30-06 2006
Map got 691/4026 games
17.16% of weekly play

---

Shogun
February 19-26 2007
Map got 750/4261 games
17.6% of weekly play

---

Biohazard
June 18-25 2007
Map got 1883/4173 games
45.12% of weekly play

---

Siege Lux
June 11-18 2007
Map got 331/3624 games
9.13% of weekly play

---

Terrorism
October 01-08 2007
Map got 315/4099 games
7.68% of weekly play
(actually this map does not work on my lux version 6.2)

---

Arizona
January 21-28 2008
Map got 299/5823 games
5.13% of weekly play

---

Castle Lux Nano
January 12-19 2009
Map got 301/5007 games
6.01% of weekly play
(for future when it is elder than 3 years ...)

Cheers ... GFips

Thanks for your requests gfips. I'm holding off on REII a little while longer just because that already has a strong healthy following and the core point of MOTW is to promote a greater variety of maps. It will eventually come back up though. Maybe I'll surprise everyone and change it at the last minute on a Sunday evening! :D

All of your other requests will eventually be worked into the schedule though.

I got a request for the new Classic Widescreen map. I know the 1st rule is no classic or it's variants. But the case was made, that less people actually play classic now than some of the other maps so it should no longer be barred from MOTW contention. I'm not sure if I agree, but what do you guys and gal think.

who knows, maybe having classic for a motw will help get some of the old-timers to play, at least for a little while.
