Schroberts! Wow! What a run!

What's Left?

Micella's Eye is the color exactly halfway between eggshell blue and royal blue. She has a few hazel specks swimming in that pool of blue...upstream of course. Micella's eyes is fiercely yet softly colored, warning you of your imminent demise and later a hug W/B.

1.Sinfóníuhljómsveit Íslands
2.Múm.
3.FM Belfast.
4.Björk - Sugarcubes, (so dreamy)

connection to dolly parton in an interview

I asked what she was really enjoying at the moment.

"Toblerones – and Dolly Parton records."

Björk Connections to: Dolly Parton

On the Drawing Restraint 9 soundtrack, Matthew Barney wanted an American to sing the track 'Gratitude', and decided on Dolly Parton.

It is not my fault that they ultimately went with someone else....

5.Benny Crespo's Gang
6.Fræbbblarnir (no i did not let the bunnies play with the keyboard. That's their name. )

imapickle considers writing a detailed critique of the notion that Maxwell´s equations "obey" the Aurora Borealis, but fears he is skating on thin ice already...

40 points to Llux Llama for her poetic description of Micella's eye. w/b.
60 points to Llux Llama for Icelandic bands who are NOT Sigur Rós.
00 points to Llux Llama for the Dolly Parton connection. While entertaining and educational, the Snow Queen was very specific about recording and covers and such.

ImageImageImageImageImageImage

00 points to imapickle for The Sugarcubes, who were previously named.
10 points to imapickle for his terse and questionable turn on Micella's eye.
(But the Snow Queen holds no grudge, and encourages you to try again.)

Elves and their Recreational Activity
by
Llux Llama

There are several distinct varieties of Elves Living amongst us. The first variety is your fairy tale Elf. They are the smallest subspecies. They traditionally wear pointy green hats and pointy shoes, a constant smile. These Little Elves are similar in size and color to Leprechauns. They stand about 2-3 feet tall. The two magical creature types should not be confused. Fairy Tale elves tend to be slimmer, calmer, and have less facial hair than Leprechauns. They also tend to give away wealth and goods instead of hording gold and trinkets.
Fairy tail Elves are hard workers and seem to be obsessed with helping struggling humans with their work. They help cobble shoes, make toys for human children, and are amongst the most talented workmen and Work women, in all the kingdoms. They are also altruistic in a way that is hard for other cultures to comprehend.

The second variety of Elf is the Woodland Elf. This Elf is described in depth by Tolkien, Gary Gygax, Dave Arneson, and the folktails of Eastern Europe and Asia. The Woodland Elf looks like a short slight enchanting human, averaging between 4 and five feet in height. They have great agility and dexterity. This allows them to safely Navigate treetop homes and travel through dense forrest where human beings would have difficulty following. Woodland elves make excellent Bowmen an Bow-women. Like their smaller cousins, they are fine workmen and workwomen. They create beautiful enchanted weapons and armor. Unlike their smaller cousins they have no driving desire to but their talents to work for human beings. They tend to avoid Humans if they can.

The Third and Last variety of Elf we will be discussing today is the High Elf. Closely related to the Woodland elves, the High elves live in valleys or less dense forrest. They live on or near the ground in highly refines houses that blend in with their environment. High Elves use their talents to amass knowledge and great magic. They are less wild than their cousins and tend to interact with humans more often. They do consider themselves superior in most ways to humans and any help rendered usually serves the Elves as well.

There is one single attribute that links All sub-species of elf together. Elves; Woodland, Fairy Tail, and High all like to go bowling on their day off.

The Grand Union of United Elves (GUEE) declared Bowling the official sport of the Elvish Species in year 101600 of the Common Elvish Era. (CEE) Bowling combines the Fairy Tale Elvish love of cobbling, with the Woodland Elves love of dexterity and the High Elves love of knowledge. High Elves created a scoring system that takes into account number of players, type of game played, points per round, points for pins knocked down, points for pins picked back up, the position of the sun in relation to each player, and the relative skill level of each player. Thousands of years after its invention, Bowling was given to Alexander the Great in an attempt to sublimate the human desire for conquest. It didn't work.

To Rhye:

15 points for knowing his Korean drama. Or how to google it. :)
25 points for knowing his nuclear submarines. Or how to google them.
25 points for learning that BarStar is not just another vixen-trawling deejay.
10 Points for Elf, which has an ice skating scene.

To mud:

50 points for naming a Scandinavian Luxer. +20 points for making it a hot one.
10 Points for Blades of Glory, which the Snow Queen has not seen. Neither has her minion, but she made be youtube for the proof. Blast you.
300 points and the minion's undying admiration for correctly identifying Roald Amundsen. We'll call it even, okay?

To imapickle:

50 points for naming a Scandinavian Luxer. + 20 points for making it a hot one.
20 points for TWO ice skating scenes, in For Your Eyes Only (nicely done!) and Anna Karenina.
30 points for a plausible, if not terribly creative, answer as to what elves do on their day off. Hm. I can see where abject fear might have dampened your normal flights of fancy... let's make it 50 points for that one.

To the lovely Schrobaire:

240 points for whipping Bio into shape, one game at a time.
10 points for pointing out that Rocky has an ice-skating scene.
70 points for the elvish snowball fight. :)

To the llascivious Llux Llama:

50 points for exploiting the loophole in questions 30 & 31.
50 points for naming a Scandinavian Luxer. + 20 points for making it a hot one.
10 points for Ice Castles, yet another film with an ice-skating scene.
80 points for the exhaustive anthropological study of elves, which also addressed their leisure activity.
50 points for the resolutions.
200 points for the Dame.
250 points for Tilda. And yes, she's amazing. Not to mention dreamy.
000 points for incorrect guess(es) on question 39.

To Professor Plum:

75 points for his resolutions, plus 50 points for staring the thread. Well done!
100 points for fun games in GES PERIODOS 520 BC.
240 points for fun and games in Bio-Deux. Yesssh.

To kude, who appears to have forsaken the Snow Queen:

25 points for his clever 2013 Resolu(x)ion.

This is the Archetype for a 3 section snowman. The correct number of buttons for a 3 section snowman is 4. 2 buttons belong on the "coat" area and 2 buttons belong on the "belly" area. You will sometimes see 3 or more buttons on the belly area of a 3 section snowman. This is absolutely INCORRECT! Any more than 2 will make the abdomen of your snowman look elongated and bug-like. Nobody wants that. The eyes of all snowmen should be made of coal. The noses should be a carrot, and the mouth is optional. BUttons should NOT be used to make mouths....unless you are going for that "sown shut" horror movie look.

Image

This is the archetype for a two sectioned snowman. The correct number of buttons for this archetype is 3. There are no exceptions. The lowest button of the 3 should be placed just under where its belly button would be. This indicates a 3/4 length coat which looks lovely on a 2 sectioned snowman. Here you see the mistake being made of using buttons for a mouth. Freaky.

Image

Here you have your basic "abominable" snow man. He has no button at all, except for his own belly button. He may have some buttons IN his belly from eating small fully clothed children as if they were tater tots. But that is not a discussion for polite company.

You changed it while I was in the middle of my post! Naughty Llama! But, yes, that is Petter Northug, Norwegian cross-country skiing medalist. How many points was that? Oh yeah... 400. Plus 160 for the snowman button thingy.

You're in the lead. ;-)

The Snow Queen is obviously going to have to rethink this one in future.
