1. The game starts at Night. All Days and Nights are 24 hours, starting at 1pm and ending at 12:59pm the next day. All times are
EDT. Friday/Saturday will be combined into one 48-hour day so that the day begins on Friday at 1PM and ends at Sunday 12:59 PM.
I will announce when night phase begins/ends, however any votes/decisions that I receive with a time tag that is after the deadline will not be counted, regardless of whether or not I announced the phase end.
2. At night, PM your actions to me.
3. During the day, all players can vote to Lynch a player. The player(s) with the most votes against them will be Imprisoned, and may not take any action at Night. If there’s a tie, multiple players will be Imprisoned. Players in Prison can’t do any actions. At dawn the following morning, one player (randomly chosen from those in Prison) will be Hung Until Dead. Any other player(s) will be returned to the game.
4. You can abstain from voting, but you have to say abstain. Players who don’t abstain and don’t vote will have a vote cast against themselves.
5. Put the name of the player you’re voting for in bold.
6. Don’t post PMs.
7. Don’t edit your posts.
8. I have final say of anything, and if I make a mistake, I'm still right. He who rules-lawyers me, will be penilized (that is, they will be a DICK)
I'll be basing this one on the Mafia game you can play via StarCraft II. Click HERE to find out more information.
I will not be revealing which roles will be in the game, but i WILL announce the breakdown between Mafia/Town/Neutral
Some of the roles you might see, keep in mind there are a few I don't believe we've ever implemented here in the past 40 iterations:
TOWN ROLES
Citizen wrote:The Citizen is the rank-and-file Town role a traditional Mafia setup. In these types of games, Citizens tend to make up the majority of the Town. A Citizen's only ability is "the power of the vote" -- the ability to contribute to discussions during the day and vote the player that he or she believes is scum. A Citizen has two power features: one is a bulletproof vest to protect them from all nighttime attacks for a single night. The other is the ability to win the game for the Town against the Mafia or Triad in the event of a 1:1 tie. Please note that this tiebreak ability does NOT apply to situations where a Citizen is left with a Neutral Evil role such as Serial Killer .
Sheriff wrote:The Sheriff is the most critical role to the success of a town; what the Sheriff knows is absolute and not open to interpretation such as an Investigator's clues are. As such, the Sheriff also tends to act as a form of leadership for the town to follow. The role has the ability to check the innocence of a player at night.
Investigator wrote:The Investigator is one of the Town's more powerful roles and necessary to the long-term survival of the Town. The role can investigate a player at night, revealing a crime that they committed.*
Doctor wrote:The Doctor is one of the most critical roles to the Town and has the potential to nullify the attempts of killing roles. Every night the Doctor can target a player to heal, and that player will survive if attacked by only one killing role. The Doctor will heal all killing attempts. The efforts of a Vigilante, Godfather or other killing roles will be voided.
Bodyguard wrote:The Bodyguard is a role designed for keeping Town aligned roles alive by guarding a target and intercepting any players that attempt to attack that target. If a player the Bodyguard guards at night is attacked, the Bodyguard and the attacker die both instead, while the guarded player is left unharmed.
Along the with Doctor, the Bodyguard is one of the Town's principal protective roles. However, it is unique because success means death for the Bodyguard. GIven the typical number of scum roles in a game, as long as the Bodyguard can successfully kill a scum player (as opposed to a Town player), this will be considered a successful game for him or her.
Vigilante wrote:The Vigilante is a "dirty cop" aligned with the Town with the ability to kill someone at night.
As such, the Vigilante may play a crucial role in helping to tip the balance in the Town's favor with a strategic night kill of a member of the Mafia / Triad or a Neutral Evil. In contrast, an errant Vigilante kill of an important Town member can turn the tide against the Town so it is crucial to be careful with your targeting and not to become what some players call, the Town Serial Killer.
Escort wrote:When used strategically, the Escort has the ability to one of the more powerful Town roles, with the potential to disrupt the Mafia, deduce killing roles or simply prevent a Mafia or Neutral role from ever achieving anything at night. The role has the ability to role-block a target at night, preventing them from using their night ability.
Also, the Escort is capable of blocking Town roles as well so its target must be selected carefully or it can be end up being an impediment to Town roles with important night actions, such as Sheriffs, Investigators, Doctors, or Bodyguards.
Lookout wrote:The Lookout is a Town Investigative role with the ability to observe a player and see who "visited" them during a particular night. The Lookout can be considered the opposite of the Detective, which in contrast, observes a player and is able to see who that player "visited" during a particular night.
MAFIA ROLESDetective wrote:This role has the ability to track one person's activity each night. The Detective can be considered the opposite of the Lookout.
Mafioso wrote: The Mafioso is essentially a henchman of the Mafia and the most basic Mafia-aligned role. The role has the ability to suggest to kill people at night; the player that receives the highest number of suggestions will be killed by a random Mafioso that night.
Godfather wrote: The Godfather has the final say on the Mafia's kill options at night and may also kill like a Mafioso. The Godfather is INVULNERABLE AT NIGHT and IMMUNE TO DETECTION but may be roleblocked by an ESCORT or the like. Note: the Lookout and Detective can see if the Godfather went anywhere at night
Consort wrote:The Consort has the potential to be one of the most powerful roles a Mafia can utilize. Essentially an Escort affiliated with the Mafia, they have the ability to block one player every night, preventing them from using their night ability.
Janitor wrote:The Janitor is a potentially amazing role for the Mafia, creating confusion amongst the Town and giving affiliates of the Mafia multiple believable lies to utilize. The Janitor has the ability to sanitize a player at night; if the player dies that night then their role (and Last Will) will not be displayed. (The Janitor is limited to 2 cleanings)
NEUTRAL ROLESConsigliere wrote:The Consigliere is an Investigator affiliated with the Mafia. The role can investigate a target every night to reveal the role. If the Godfather is killed, the Consigliere becomes the Godfather (and also loses his investigation powers)
Serial Killer wrote:The Serial Killer has the ability to kill one player each night. The Serial Killer must eliminate the Town and other hostile factions in order to win. The Serial Killer is INVULNERABLE AT NIGHT and IMMUNE TO DETECTION but may be roleblocked by an ESCORT or the like
Jester wrote:The Jester is a Neutral role that only wins if he is lynched during the day. The Jester is a mind games role, as a person acting like a Jester won't be lynched, but then some players will purposefully act as a Jester to avoid being lynched, so a Jester has to act like he's only pretending to be a Jester in order to be lynched - the circularity can be endless. NOTE: IF THE JESTER IS LYNCHED, a RANDOM VOTER WILL BE KILLED THAT NIGHT!
* Below you will find the list of possible returns for the Investigator:Executioner wrote:The Executioner is a highly dynamic neutral role with no active abilities. Instead, the Executioner receives a game-assigned "target" at the beginning of the game and only wins if his target is lynched during the day. Many players find the Executioner to be a very interesting and fun role for this reason, but one that can be challenging depending on how skilled his target is at defending himself against accusations of being scum. If an Executioner's target is killed at night, he will turn into a Jester
Trespassing: Investigator, Detective, Lookout, Consigliere, Janitor
No crime: Citizen, Sheriff, Doctor, Jester, Executioner, Godfather, Serial Killer
Soliciting: Escort, Consort
Murder: Vigilante, Mafioso
