AI description

Post by Blasphemy » Sat Feb 26, 2011 12:53 pm

I just DLed Lux yesterday. So I hope I am in the correct forum and not asking questions which are easily answered elsewhere. I can't find this info after multiple google searches and scanning the lux guide.

I don't know which AI's do what. Sometimes it just sits there and piles up armies and other times they attack all out without consequences. Is there an outline somewhere that details the individual bot behaviors?

Also, what about these downloadable bots? Which one is the toughest?

Thanx

http://sillysoft.net/wiki/?AgentProfiles

(Old and kinda outdated but still useful info.)

Reaper and BotOfDoom are most difficult ...

Especially if either has more than one bot in the same game ...

'cause they'll team against you by default ...

Sillysoft Search: ReaperSillysoft Search: BotOfDoom

(Those links will give you more info on both.)

You might also consider Killbot for a little variety ...

Good luck and welcome to Lux ...

;)

I am wondering. If I can routinely beat the best AI how would a fair against the average human?

It would depend on what map and game settings you were playing ...

Reaper and BotOfDoom are very strong on smaller maps like Classic or Roman Empire II ...

And low continent income increases like 0% or 10% ...

If you can beat both consistently then you will be a "better than average newbie" against online humans ...

(But still a newbie!)

How do you disable the co-op between the bots?

I was just playing unmodified classic.

I can beat 5 killbots but get owned against 3 kill bots a reaper and a bot o' doom.

reapers team with reapers, BoD teams with other BoD. Killbots don't team. that configuration doesn't have anyone teaming against you.

Well crap there goes my excuse :)

Ok I can take 4 killbots and a reaper but with a bot o doom instead of one of the killbots it is very hard. They have an uncoordinated balanced attack where by most attack outright and one builds up so even if I survive the onslaughts and have a good continent base I get blown away by the lone surviving doom/reaper. The only time I can win is when I take out each bot in succession by playing the cards each gives me in a single turn.

Anyway thanks for all the help. By the way how does one chat in a game. Better yet is there a complete list of commands. The list in the Lux Guide is not very helpful.
