Lux 4.0 and SDK Beta Test
Lux 4.0 and SDK Beta Test
There is a macintosh only beta of Lux 4.0 available at http://sillysoft.net/download/Lux-4.0b.dmg
The biggest new feature is the Plugin Manager. This is a window where you can view, install and rate plugins. Plugins include maps (with their themes), AIs and MapGenerators. There are also beta versions of German, Dutch and French translations.
There are also 2 SDK betas for AIs and MapGenerators that are meant to work with the 4.0 version of Lux.
http://sillysoft.net/download/LuxAgentSDK-2.0b.zip
http://sillysoft.net/download/LuxMapGen ... K-1.0b.zip
Hopefully the final versions of this stuff will be released next week. All feedback is greatly appreciated.

1) Calls to LuxMapGenerators to acquire the choices happen continuously (at least during the first game I played). Put a System.out.println into the example ExternalMapGenerator, in getChoices, and watch the system console for the output...
2) In the comments for generate() in LuxMapGenerator, there is: "... has three methods of interest ..." but then only two are listed. I'll send you a reformatted file :>
3) Trying to compile Ravitar against the new stubs had the compiler bail after 100 errors. The interface has changed that much? I know, I know... RTFM.
