Did my first Survivor today and I had a blast. Wasnt sure how I'd like it since i did so poorly during Luxtober team games. Great idea preach.

The top two teams from each group go forwards, which means Team A & Team I from Group One, Team H & Team D from Group Two, Team N & Team F from Group Four. We have an odd situation in Group Three with three teams ending up with the same points...this is probably due in part at least to Team O not showing up at all. To be fair to everyone, Team L, Team G, and Team C will all move forward from this Group.

This means we have 9 teams in our Quarter Finals. These 9 will be split into 3 pools of 3. The winning team from each pool will go forwards to the Semi Finals on Sunday, together with the top runner up. The groups are as follows :

Any teams with members in limbo will get those players back automatically. Each team will play each other team in each pool once today. The same points system will apply (3 for a win, 1 for a loss, 0 for a no-show). In the event of tied groups (likely!) we'll be playing the infamous "Fastest Empty Clearance Kompetition (F.E.C.K)" to determine the winners.

Semi Finals and Finals will be held tomorrow, which means 5 of the teams above will be going out tonight. I'll be hosting from about 7pm (GMT+1) my time and onwards, with a break between 9pm and about 10:30pm to watch Sath Efrica humiliate England in the 2007 Rugby World Cup final. I'll be up as long as necessary to get these games done, so all teams above -

Finally, there is a new theme available to the Survivor map. Please make sure you have it - there are new missions this evening based on that theme.

WOOHOO!! A brilliant night of Survivor, thanks to everyone who participated in tonights quarter finals. All 8 teams that were fighting for spot in the semi's were present, and every single game that needed playing got played. Thank you all for your patience, I know some of you were waiting a long time. Here's a breakdown of the games :

Pool One

It was a shaky start to the night, with Team A claiming (with some validity) that they didn't understand the mission correctly. We temporarily shelved the result to first see the outcome of the games that followed.

#22 : Team D (mud, MinorKing) vs. Team A (Yo Daddy, Alexander Great) won by Team A. Last years undefeated champions are on shaky ground.

#23 : Team C (The, RandomGuy) vs. Team D (MinorKing, mud) won by Team D.

This last result placed all teams in the group on equal points, each having won and lost one game, which in light of the incident in the first game seemed fair.

These results meant the elimination of Team F, who have also played brilliantly and patiently all tournament. They didn't go down without a fight though, both their games going right down to the wire.

Team H : 5 points (won 1/2 games).
Team F : 2 points (won 0/2 games).

So - at this stage, Team L and Team G were clearly through to the final four on Sunday. We did however need to clean up Pool One and find a winner there, and with all teams present we set up 3 additional 2vs2 games :

These results meant the elimination of Team A, and with 2 wins from 2 games, gave Team C first place in their Pool and a ticket to the final four.

Team C : 8 points (won 2/2 games).
Team D : 5 points (won 1/2 games).
Team A : 2 points (won 0/2 games).

One remaining problem - we needed the best runner up. Teams A and D from Pool One, Team N from Pool Two, and Team H from Pool Three all had 5 points each. Unfortunately for Teams A and N, they were no longer there so were eliminated, and we allowed a final 2vs.2 game between Team D and Team H for the final place:

Tiebreaker Two

Team H : GYPCOUNT, Nimrod, Eric the Great of Antarctica, Mr. Potato Head, the tide, SecondTermMistake

#32 : Team D (MinorKing, magpie) vs. Team H (Eric The Great of Antarctica, Nimrod7) won by ... wait for it ... Team D.

This gave last years defending champions a place in the final four, despite being on the ropes in both the group stages, the quarter finals, and the initial tiebreaker for their Pool. Have to hand it to them, they are tenacious...well done also to Team H for making them fight tooth and nail for it - it was a very, very close game.

Team D : 4 points (won 1/1 games).
Team H : 1 points (won 0/1 games).

So - semifinals on Sunday. I will be hosting from around 5 or 6 pm my time (GMT+1) and look forward to seeing Team L vs. Team C and Team G vs. Team D, with the bronze match after that, followed by the final.

IMPORTANT : There will be a few changes - new missions from the semis onwards, some of which are reflected in the new theme to the Survivor map which I request you all make sure you have by then. You may need to manually remove the theme from your plugins folder (delete the "Luxtober Survivor" folder) then remove the map using the plugin manager, reinstall it from the plugin manager, and restart Lux. You know you are looking at the new theme if you see multicoloured stars on the countries. The semi finals and bronze place matches will be the best of 3 games, the finals will be the best of 5.

....thanks though it was alot of fun, the games i got in and hope you keep up the good job! Nice work team A glad all 6 memembers got atleast one game in its too bad we weren't here when it mattered though!

Preach, you have it in for Team C don't you. First you put us in Group Three. In this group 3 made it past the group round and all three of these teams are in the Semifinals. Then you put us in a pool with the only other team to make the semifinals. Want to make it any harder for us Wink

Man, now I know why it's called Survivor: you have to have an incredible amount of stamina just to play in the darn tournament! Smile

I'm really bummed that we couldn't stick around for the tie breaker; but, we played some great games and had a great time. Thanks to ALL who competed; great games out there. A special thank you to Peacherman for working so hard on this tournament; and, the biggest shout out to my teammates PASCALINE and MONS VENERIS for rocking the house! A stupendous tourney, and my humble thanks to Preacherman who showed what it takes to be great in withstanding numerous attacks on his judgment, in exhibiting incredible stamina, and for giving way too much of his personal time ... a rollicking success the Survivor tourney was.

And it was the best waste of seven hours (or so) I've experienced for years! I'm exhausted!
