Saturday October 27th, Top All-Time Seeds Tournament

Time: 1 PM Pacific / 4 PM Eastern / 9 PM UK / 10 PM Europe

This TOC will consist of 4 consecutive games played by the 6 highest all-time seeded players who turn up. There will be 3 rooms (running brackets A, B, C), so a total of 18 people will be able to play.

To clarify, this is based on the highest you have ever been seeded in your Lux career. Your ranking page will have a "(high of Xth)" beside your seed (unless you're at the highest you've ever been right now), and this lifetime high seed is what is used to enter the tournament. If you have ever been seeded in the top 10 then you should show up and you should be able to play.

Show up on time to play. The A bracket will start exactly at the appointed hour, and the B and C rooms will start very shortly after.

The maps played will be Classic Risk, Classic Part Deux, and 2007 MOTWs. A mix of card and continent settings will be used.

Scoring is as follows (for each game):
8 points for 1st place
5 points for 2nd place
4 points for 3rd place
3 points for 4th place
2 points for 5th place
1 point for 6th place

The player with the most points in each room will be declared the winner of their TOC.

Well I don't know if it's official, but I think Golgi won in room A. It was a VERY close match with 3 players all having a chance to win. qwert1965 was a GREAT sport by letting an rs happen when he had a game clearly in hand and deserves some sportsmanship kudos! And I think Golgi owes him something too Wink

Big Will played a very good tourny but made a tactical error on qwert which allowed a bot to kill qwert and cost will placement that would have probably wrapped up the tourny for Will.

Dom had a rough go with a rough start and I made a bad move on him which probably cost me the tourny.

Either way, Will, Golgi, and I all had a chance to win the tourny in the fourth game. Golgi got slammed by the bot and was still able to recover for the victory and I think that clinched it for him. Had will placed 3rd he probably would have won the tourny but a bad start screwed him. Had I won the game I think I might have snuck the win!

Whatever else, it was a very well played tournament with very good sporstmanship by all, but I think qwert was the BEST sport!

good game!

I guess winning the first two games puts you at a disadvantage...especially when players make it a point to ensure you don't place well the next two games...

This tourney sucked.

Was just a load of cliquey bullshit with dustin giving instructions on how to kill a player from the side and RCrum playing teammate to General K. I wonder who won it?

Hey djdee, maybe you could use a golden pacifier too?

You made repeated claims that I "cheated" when my actions were to (correctly) say "scan is weak" along with pointing out some other things (against other players) like "why allow black so much income?"

In fact, my saying that ended up helping you get far east, since you weren't spread out in 2 places trying to hold on to a weak scan.

So really, it was your sour grapes (for what? scan is a shitty continent if you don't have europe) that lowered the mood in the room more then anything.

I guess in the future I shouldn't open an extra room for latecomers? You seem really happy that I extended the tournament for you past the written starting time.

I had a real good time playing in the tourney! My performance was less than stellar (too much mold in my armpit hair), but it was fun to participate... and especially fun to chat it up with my good buddy Drifter as I waited for the games to finish up.

Thanks for the games all!
Thanks for organizing all the events big D!

well the second part of your bitter post made me laugh for some time... specially when in the same room 3 players out of the remaining 5 were accused of teaming with me lol:

1 - SuperGood (because she didn't pop my income in a deux game and she was later asshated by Trinkett).
2- Lantern (Because in Deux he killed me last and gave me 2nd place knowing that I was the only player to pop and asshat All in that game).
3- RCrum in the last game (because RCrum played in a way that made my win easier??? not sure about that!)... I mean seriously what's with the free cheap "teaming" accusations lately... Do you think after 2000 games won against 6 humans I need help to win games now???

Thank God you didn't accuse Reaper of teaming with me because he didn't pop Europe in last game when I was defending it with 2!

djdee I wub you too but your reaction is not worthy of a good player like you so please do think it over!

As for your 1st part of the post I do agree that Dustin has big influence on the course of the game and here's a funny story:

in the Asia TOC, a cool Oz player named Gas needed an advice in the 1st classic game we were playing, so Dustin (who was joking of course) replied: "asshat General K".... 1 second later (and I mean 1 second) the guy went apeshit on me screwing all my chances in winning!
I was like "WTF" and Gas replied "well it was Dustin advice!"
- Dustin: ROFL

I mean I still laugh about it today but it was a shit influence during that game...

Very Happy

General K I was not accusing you of teaming just RCrum of trying to team or being really really stupid.

In the first game you hit everyone and would probably have won the game if other players had reacted at all. But then you just hit me who was neither smallest or biggest by a long way. You left Lantern who was biggest and that was poor play. I didn't give a shit about you getting 2nd, Lantern did the right thing. It was your suicide hit on me that pissed me off. That and Dustin telling everyone to hit me for no apparent reason.

In the next game RCrum just attacked me when he had an easy kill on you to probably win the game. In the next he just started doing the same thing so I suicided. what the hell the tourney really sucked by then.

GK when I entered the room I said I would lose to you. I have no doubt you are a better player than me. That is what made their behaviour worse. Why should Dustin help people kill me and why did RCrum need to help you? They didn't. It just made the whole tournement leave a bitter taste in the mouth.

Anyway well played and no hard feelings.

Golgi wonders what actitude is, hehe...

If I recall correctly, I think you stole Rome that round, leaving your Italian borders undefended. Being your immediate neighbor the best strategic move was to pop your income. Nuthin personal there!

Golgi will usually pop poorly defended income, unless of course he is teaming with General K...

Wink

Oh, and thanks all for restarting the last game for me. I was getting the evil eye from the wife and closed down after the 3rd game. Again, thx Drift!!!
