I'd be interested in hearing what other people think about some of the strategic thoughts posted by 3DA, n00less cluebie, kitty on catnip. and some bot programmers in this thread.

I'm particularly interested in other viewpoints on kitty on catnip's basic laws for classic and his country ratings.

I agree with Kitty's basic laws of Classic.

*My addition

As far as Kitty's country ratings go, if I am the nomad then Japan and Irkutsk/Yakutsk are a must if I can get them. After that I want either India, Ural, or Afghanistan. If I can't get either of the last three, then I'll go for middle east, but I like to avoid it since it is right in the path of Africa.

As far as continent preferences go, I agree with NA being a death trap. I prefer SA the most since it's the farthest from Asia. After that I like Australia because it's quicker to take then the bigger continents.

What's interesting is that, though Kitty's rules are good, I can think of times that routinely occur where they should be broken. I know Kitty didn't (or doesn't, I guess he still play at some point) follow those rules all the time.

Interesting stuff.
