Right now we can see the last five games a player has played or we can see ALL the games a player has played. Can we have an option to see the last 100 games played? Faster load times.

Sure thing, Whirly. I'm working on a fitter, happier, more productive database, and will be releasing a variety of faster, prettier web pages in the next few weeks. It won't happen overnight, but I hope things around here will look much different by Luxtoberfest. Keep an eye on the forums and game chat results for more information.

So utterly stoked to have you in the driver seat. Fix it, tweak it, code it, make it better. Really REALLY exciting stuff. I am looking forward to having a little more free so I can play and play and play and play.

The 'all past games' goes in pages of 20 games. If you want to see the last 100, just open the first 5 pages of the 'all past games' display.

Yes, right now recent games shows your last five games, but if you want to see more than your last five games the only option is to recall All of the players games. Consequently, if you want to look up General K's last games then you must load all of his thousands of games which takes forever! I would like to look at the players last 20 or 50 or 100 games without haing to load All of their games. I know... Get a faster computer... I figure a few para keystrokes is better than $1250.00 for a new macmini.

(The lag when accessing past games is a server database issue, not your computer.)

Whirl, try again. The "All games" page doesn't actually show all the games at once, just 20 at a time.

i.e. here's your last 100 games, spread over 5 pages:

But if Whirl tries accessing a player with a long history consisting of thousands of games, and that link hasn't been clicked by someone else recently, then it can take awhile for the database to query and cache the information. Depending on overall server load, those pages can take a minute or longer to appear. A few years ago, the first page for each player would show twenty games, but that was changed to "max five games and only within 24 previous hours" cause of nasty lag. Some database redevelopment wouldn't hurt. We could even give forum registered users a preference on how many games they'd like displayed when looking at profiles, like 20, 50, or 100, y'know?

Yah, it retrieves it as needed, since it isn't needed every day.
