October 24-25th weekend :: TeamPlay Tournament

We are gearing up for a fresh take on the Lux team-play feature for Luxtoberfest...

Please look out for the TeamPlay host this coming weekend, Saturday and Sunday.

First games will be starting up on Saturday the 24th at: 11am Pacific / 2pm Eastern time / 7pm London / 8pm Berlin

Later set start time: 6pm Pacific time / 9pm Eastern / 2am London / 3am Berlin (sunday in europe)

Team captains wanted! Please recruit yourself some core members to join your team. We're going to be using fresh teams for this tournament, tho you can recruit similar members as past events if you desire. If you don't have a team setup in advance, we'll add you to one on the day of.

I remember the first team play of my career. I was still an uber newb playing in my first year. I joined the team room without really knowing exactly how things worked. I was auto-placed (or secretly placed by dustin) on My Finger Slipped. Before I could gather my thoughts on how team play worked Enokrad said in game chat "Sweet, whirl is MFS". I didn't even know what MFS was. I watched for a bit and realized I had been placed on a team and was greeted with enthusiasm. It was that specific moment that helped endear me to this game. People I barely had interaction with were stoked to have me on their team.

... then maybe it was you Whirl? In my first Luxtober Team games i got killed twice first by my own MyFingerSlipped "Partner", who did not realize at all it was a team game (lol, or maybe he just killed me so that I can do no damage to the Team ...)

I can't promise anything I would love to play some games but i think only Sunday is possible and then I am not even sure about Sunday. So a team can set me as a backup if they please.

I'd say at least 4 people per team. And that could go up a bunch higher if there's demand from people.

Previous teamplay weekends were all day & night any chance we could see that again or is this the new permanent format? If not what are the start times for Sunday's games? The same as the Saturday ones?

darn... just came for evening team play and no rooms

teams host is being left up overnight. when there's just a couple humans there, it sets up games as humans vs bots (with teaming reapers). when enough humans are there to form teams it sets up human team games.

I'll be online sunday hosting games there throughout the day. Probably in the morning and then after the raw reset.

The one thing I suggested in the game (and will post here as a hard copy for future) is to make the same teams the same colors if possible. It just makes sense.

yes i like the idea of team games too. Why not do one day a week (maybe only every 2nd week) an teamplay day?

The results on the TEAMS leaderboard are sorted by point total, but I am using the average points as the final rankings result.

Thus, the zapping sassy zebras take the win, with Rich Girl as their most dominant player.

The klowns take 2nd place, on the wings of dustin and imapickle and teammates.

3rd place goes to the Numbas, with Deep Blue and GFips winning games for them.
