Luxtoberfest Survivor
Settings:
All games will be 3 vs. 3 on the Classic map with the following settings - 5,5,5 with a 0% bonus, picked countries and a 60 second timer.
Teams:
A.) paranoiarodeo, el toro, Muskie, BarStar, jwd
B.) Mud, Blind Willie, Magpie, MinorKing, hoodie
C.) Black Pope, SnyperEye, pls, MissChaos, michelle
D.) Smedz, Xanadu, Sidhe, Baden, General Zod
E.) General K, Dominator, pcristov, Manimal, R@wby
F.) Packman, Drifter, KingPatrick, Yo Daddy, glowextreme (the silencers)
G.) Alexander_the_Great, Golgi, Vidar, SunTzu, Mike
H.) Eice, hack6464, Daka, redhiker, micahaci
These teams will be split into two pools. Pool One will consist of teams A, C, E, and G. Pool Two of teams B, D, F, and H. As far as possible, we'll concentrate on Pool One on the 10th, Pool Two on the 11th, with bonus games and finals taking place on the 12th. I'll be hosting from about 7pm GMT on each night, for as long as necessary.
If anyone knows that they cannot make their team's Pool night, let me know ASAP!
Gameplay:
In each pool, all teams will play one another at least once so you should never have to wait more than one game for your team to play. I have no idea how long each game will take, so it's important that teams are available to play when called upon - I'll give as much notice as possible of course. If a team can't field a full team within about 10 minutes of start time, they lose by default and we move onto the next game.
Games in each pool will continue until two teams have been eliminated from the competition. The winning teams from each group will progress to the next round. A team is deemed to have been eliminated if they can no longer field a team of 3 players.
Each team will have ONE possibility to reinstate members that have been voted off. Details of this will be made available to affected members at the appropriate time.
Missions:
Missions will be PM'ed to team members just prior to each game. A mission can be completed by an individual player, by all, or any part of a team.
- Hold North America & Australia for 3 rounds
- Hold Europe & Australia for 3 rounds
- Hold 30 visible (30+1) armies in both Madagascar & Japan for 2 rounds
- Hold 30 visible (30+1) armies in both Madagascar & Iceland for 2 rounds
- Hold 30 visible (30+1) armies in both Iceland & Japan for 2 rounds
- Hold any 25 countries with at least 3 visible (3+1) armies on each
- Hold Europe, Africa & South America for 2 rounds
- Hold Europe, Africa & Australia for 2 rounds
- Hold Asia for 2 rounds with at least 5 visible (5+1) armies on each country
Rules
After each game, the winning team will vote off a single member of the losing team. A player must have played at least one game before being voted off.
You are not allowed to kill a member of the opposing team - if this happens, the team that made the kill loses by default. So think before you click! Any player with only one territory must attack for a card. This means we can't get into a stalemate situation.
Finally - can each team captain please be sure to contact their own team members via PM in order to make sure everyone knows they are playing! Some names on some teams have not confirmed since posting their interest, and may not know that they are part of a team...
(Crappy stand-in graphic until I have time to make something better.)

Preach, what time in EST is 7pm GMT?
I'm not very good with timezones and unfortunatly that night I have band until about 9pm EST, so I'm not sure what time that is in GMT.
If you could assist I would be very greatful as I don't want to miss any event that I can participate in during luxtober.
Thanks for thinking this idea up preach, |

The 12th, I know I cannot get there til 5PM Pacific due to work (if I'm lucky), so too bad for me. Bad thing about photo shoots, you know when you start, not when you end 99.8% of the time.
I admit I did not read enough before I posted the first time.

Well, I'll be starting at around 7pm but hosting for at least 5 or 6 hours ahead of that, probably more - as long as it takes to get the games in really. So we should be OK even if we don't actually start when I am ready |

...and I think I have to stay home from school, it will be impossible for me to sleep when you are going to host from 7pm and 5-6 hours ahead (oh, and probably more!?!)...
Let's just hope it's worth it - in other words - I hope we win... |

| I posted this in the other thread, but I will post here also. Alexander_the_Great has informed me that he will be unable to play, so we are in need of a fifth on team G. Let me know if anyone is interested in joining us. |

| Unfortunately, The time is not in my favor also. Team C will have to play without me, unless Preacherman can change us from the 10th to the 11th. I believe Miss Chaos mention this day being bad for her also. |

I will study during the day today, and will be available to play tonight. So in other words; I will be there waiting for our other team members to show up! |

You're going to want to kill us, however both Justin (Xanadu) and I have had crisis at work. I'm having to leave the city for 2 days and he has urgent meetings. Both of us will be out of commission on wednesday. Julia will be with me, so we are suddenly 3 down with one player unsure about his whereabouts anyway.
Sorry chief but we need to forfeit.

Sorry to hear that Smedz...I'll just be hosting on and off over the next 3 days I think and try to keep the games balanced and fair between the teams that do turn up when they can, and we'll see what the results are like on the 12th I guess...
Edit to add : I'll be online in about 15 minutes or so...

Just want to say thanks to everyone who showed up this evening, we had a slow start (7pm CET hosting is obviously pointless!) but by midnight my time we had 20+ people in and a great atmosphere.
Survivor games (Mission Lux) has great potential I think, and thanks to everyone for their comments and suggestions tonight. We had 2/3rds of most teams and very few full teams showing which is typical for team games, so we played a lot of training games instead. A few 'real' ones did take place though.
Hopefully tomorrow night we'll see a much bigger turnout - ALL teams are welcome tomorrow and Thursday and we'll try to rattle off as many games as we can - they actually go quite fast.
Only two casualities of voting this evening - General K was voted off as well as MissChaos, but these players and others in their positions may well have the chance to fight their way back onto their team
Thanks again all - it made a VERY nice change from regular Lux - see you tomorrow!! |
