|
|
Friday October 5th, Tournament of Champions for the Regions!!
Americas starts at:
9 PM Eastern time / 6 PM Pacific
Europe-Africa starts at:
7 PM GMT time / 8 PM British Summer / 9 PM Central Euro Summer
Asia-Pacific starts at:
Noon GMT time / 9 PM in Japan / 10 PM in Melbourne
Each of these TOC will consist of 1-3 rooms (as needed) with only players from the given regions playing, for a period of 3 hours. It's OK to show up somewhat late to this event and still join in.
The maps played will be Classic Risk, Classic Part Deux, and some 2007 MOTWs. A mix of card and continent settings will be used.
Scoring is as follows (for each game):
8 points for 1st place
5 points for 2nd place
4 points for 3rd place
3 points for 4th place
2 points for 5th place
1 point for 6th place
Each person's score will be calculated as (total points / games) with a minimum of 3 games required. If there is a tie then a tie-breaker match will be played to declare the Regional winners.

I am so there. Can't wait! 8pm Chicago time.
i'm really interested to see this tournament! The structure does not encourage marathons, does it? Coming in first in a marathon that takes 45 minutes would be less valuable than coming in third in three games in the same amount of time. Fascinating. It'll be cool to see how people's play changes.
Do you have to stick with one map once you're in, or can you switch around?

I don't know about Pacific, but last year Asia sucked. Only Niet and I showed up.
then I decided to play and compete this year with europe. Am I allowed to do so knowing that I live in the middle east? |

Djdee would offer General K a postal address to claim EU citizenship but is afraid he might get his ass kicked.
Seriously GK you can put down my address as your temporary home if Asia sucks again this year. |

Thank you for the offer djdee, you know we are on same time zone. Besides, Cyprus and Turkey are both few miles away and it's europe!
Anyway I decided to give a chance to Asia 1st, since my country belongs in this continent, however if there is no competition then I might request authorization from Dustin to play in Euro Zone. |

Dayum. Looks like Neitzsche had on his stompin' boots. Congrats!
3DA is somewhat relieved that Neitzche is not playing in his region tonight.

Hey - congratulations to everyone in the tournament. I had a great time. Everyone played really great. I played all Classic Biohazard and they were some of the most tense, harrowing games I've ever played, against some really stiff competition. SO great.
I didn't see Spidey play all his games, but the one I did see, he played amazingly well. There was a point in the game where he could have bailed and taken an easy second place, but he didn't: he stuck it out, played for the win, and got it. Congrats.
Luxtuberfest rules. Can't wait till next year.
