Luxtoberfest Survivor

Settings:
All games will be 3 vs. 3 on a specially designed Classic variation (same countries, same continents, same connections) with the following settings - 5,5,5 with a 0% continent bonus, random countries and a 45 second timer.

Groups & Teams:
The teams have been split into 4 groups (which I've tried to balance somewhat) as indicated by their colour.

(Team O and Team P have been put together from the waiting list. Each member has been notified by PM of their team and their team mates, and a link has been provided to this topic.)

Gameplay:
In all games throughout the tournament with the exception of the finals, the winning team will nominate a member of the losing team. The nominated player (who must have played at least one match for their team) is in limbo and may not play any further games for their team. Like last year chances may arise allowing players in limbo to complete individual tasks that may earn them a place back onto their teams - details of this are of course top secret and will be announced privately at the appropriate time to the players concerned.

Group Stage
2 teams will move forward from each group. There will be a minimum of 6 games per group, each team playing a single game against each of the other teams in the same group. This means each team will play 3 times, which makes a good team turnout in these Group Stages especially important - for each game you lose, you lose a team member. Scoring is simple - 3 points for a win, 1 for a loss, 0 for a no-show. This means that there is a (slim) chance of qualifying from your group just by showing up with a team and playing. Top two scoring teams qualify - in the event of ties, a sudden death match will be played.

Wednesday 17th 9pm GMT+1 until whenever :
Group One & Group Two.

Thursday 18th 9pm GMT+1 until whenever :
Group Three & Group Four.

Friday 19th 9pm GMT+1 until whenever :
A day off for those teams who qualified. Any games from any of the four groups we didn't get completed from the 17th and 18th due to time restrictions, connection issues, etc. will be played.

Quarter Finals
Before this stage begins, all players still in limbo are automatically reinstated to their teams. They can however be voted off again as normal should their team lose a game. Each match detailed below will consist of 3 games, the first team to win 2 of them moves on to the next round - the losing team is out of the competition.

Saturday 20th 5pm GMT+1 until whenever :
Winner Group One vs. Runner-up Group Two.
Winner Group Two vs. Runner-up Group One.
Winner Group Three vs. Runner-up Group Four.
Winner Group Four vs. Runner-up Group Three.

Semi Finals
Each match detailed below will consist of 3 games, the first team to win 2 of them moves on to the final. Losers will battle for 3rd place.

Sunday 21st 5pm GMT+1 until whenever :
Winner Quarter Final #1 vs. Winner Quarter Final #3.
Winner Quarter Final #2 vs. Winner Quarter Final #4.

Bronze Match : Loser Semi Final #1 vs. Loser Semi Final #2.

Silver/Gold Match : Winner Semi Final #1 vs. Winner Semi Final #2.

Missions:
Missions will be PM'ed to team members just prior to each game here on the forums. It's important that all members of all teams have valid forum accounts and can check their PM's when instructed to do so. A mission can be completed by an individual player, by all, or any part of a team.

Classified

Other Rules
Unless the mission specifically requests it, you are not allowed to kill a member of the opposing team - if this happens, the team that made the kill loses by default. So think before you click! Any player with only one territory must attack for a card. This means we can't get into a stalemate situation. It goes without saying that there should be no disclosure or hints on mission objectives in the game chat. This obviously defeats the purpose of the game and puts your team at an immediate disadvantage. I strongly suggest the use of IM software for discussing team tactics during games.

Finally - any questions or points needing clarifying, please post them here and I'll answer all questions. It's highly possible I've missed a possible situation or overlooked something. The same goes for problems with scheduling, etc...we have a couple of weeks to get this ironed out so if anyone knows they cannot make the dates put forward, now is the time to speak up!

ok young guns, i cannot make it to the round on wednesday, but if yall advance then i can make it to all the remaining rounds. if this is not good enough, i would understand if you feel the need to replace me. otherwise, i will certainly compete during the weekend.

well just so my team knows, I'll be about 45 mins late on wednesday and thursday cuz of school which sucks. I can't make it Fri/Sat but I'll be fine on Sat/Sun. I'm not liking the times...

Deuce, try to contact any of the members of any of the teams with less than 6 players on them - 6 is the maximum, and not all teams have that.

i'd just like to congradulate whoever is lucky enough to play us, for moving on, since our team shows no positive life at all.....half our team won't be there for sure and the rest don't care to talk about it so ill pop in, as to not ruin it for crum and anyone else who stumbles in, but my expectations for our squad are very low.....there is always next year.

wait wait wait… i am the only one who cannot make it at all on wednesday. newb will be a little late, but that might not make a difference. you, alex, crum, and nick will be there on time. so thats 4 players. we would have time to lose two games before newb gets there. and even more time if we win at least one. im confident in yall.
