Thursday October 11th, Silent Lux Tournament

Time: all day long

This tournament will consist of 1 or more rooms playing games with no chat. You can show up any time during the day and play.

Scoring is as follows (for each game):
8 points for 1st place
5 points for 2nd place
4 points for 3rd place
3 points for 4th place
2 points for 5th place
1 point for 6th place

Each person's score will be calculated as (total points / games) with a minimum of 3 games required. If there is a tie then a tie-breaker match will be played to declare the winner.

OK, I've put up some classic and deux hosts that will be running all day. One of them is set so that players can't chat, but guests can. The other is set so that nobody at all can chat. We'll see how it goes...

i just played the best goddamn endgame of my life for a silent win and realized there was a reaper that got out first... does that mean it doesnt count? not that i'll be anywhere near the top anyways but... its the principle of the thing

Can I appologise to Marauder now for killing him in a silent room. It was harsh but took me from billy-no-hope to a win. Silent sucks cos you can't say sry in the game. Hope you are not too pissed with me.

I've switched the rooms around. Now the classic room is fully silent and the deux room lets non-players talk. What do you think of the diff settings? This will likely be a host option in the next version of Lux.

I think it would work great if players could talk to eachother while guest can only see the players chat, but i think the guest should still be able to chat but only guest to guest. Razz

BTW thanks for hosting another awsome tourney dustin! Was lots of fun!!!

I think it's all cool. If it would be possible to silence players even after they have died out, would be nice... it might cut down on some of the bickering, or at least the unanswered verbal abuse.

I love it. People aren't afraid to make moves. But I was asshatted a couple of times because of something that could have been sorted out via chat beforehand. Also, after said asshatting, I had so much anger bottled up I went a little crazy in the chat. So I dunno, it has its good points, it has its bad, but I guess it does cut down on cheating/whining.

BTW: Sorry to everyone who had to see my tirade, I usually don't let it get to me, but I've yet to play a tournament where I have not been asshatted at least once.
Curse of the Turtle let me borrow his effects for my tourny games. Wink

(You'll find no one who killed/half-killed me in any tourny game won the game)

I have never had so much fun as to banter with players who are playing but can't respond to clearly provocotive innuendo about fashion and sexual proclivity. Without that I probably would not play in silent lux. Without chat lux is BOR-RING.
