Thursday October 2nd, Tournament of Champions for Rookies!!
Time: all day long
In order to qualify as a Rookie you must have joined online Lux in the last year. If you played online before the last Luxtoberfest you are not a rookie.
This TOC will consist of 1-3 rooms (as needed) with only Rookies playing. You can show up anytime during the day and compete.
The maps played will be Classic Risk, Roman Empire II, and some 2008 MOTWs.
Scoring is as follows (for each game):
8 points for 1st place
5 points for 2nd place
4 points for 3rd place
3 points for 4th place
2 points for 5th place
1 point for 6th place
Each person's score will be calculated as (total points / games) with a minimum of 3 games required. Only games with 6 humans in it will count towards the score. If there is a tie then a tie-breaker match will be played to declare the Rookie winner.

The ROOKIES tournament room is now open. It will be up for the whole day. Games with 6 humans in the room count.
It's a Roman Empire II room right now. It will change later in the day, and more rooms will open during peak times. |

So do I read that correctly that you win based on your average score?
Does that mean if I play 3 games, and win all three, then I have achieved maxium possible score and should stop playing? |

And that must be why grim is done for the day... at 11:52 am EST.
There must be a total point score that contributes to the average. I mean if you play 8 games and come in dead last, and I play three games and win them all I can see how I'd win. But what if I played 40 games, and won 12 but came 5th or worst in the rest and grim only played 3 and won them all. How do you justify a winner there?

/me starts off today with a score of 1/1 = 1 point! woohoo
/me adds a 5th place for a total of (1 + 2) / 2 = 1.5 points! I'm cookin now!
/me adds a 2nd place for a total of (1 + 2 + 5) / 3 = 2.666 Still pitiful
/me adds an asshatted 6th place for a score of (1 + 2 + 5 + 1) /4 = 2.25 >sigh<
Yay....First win..... (1+ 2 + 5 + 1 + 8 ) / 5 = 3.4
Yay! Another Asshat 6th place
(1 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 8 + 1) / 6 = 3
Oooh, 2 asshat games in a row.
1 + 2 + 5 + 1 + 8 +1 + 1)/7 = 2.7

There's now a Classic room open for the rookies tournament as well.
Play in whichever room you want.
Do NOT play in 2 rooms at the same time during any Luxtoberfest tournament. If I see you doing this I'll boot you from one of them. |

I'd like to Thank HunterNP for finishing my rookie game today. Unfortunately the circumstances were such that I had to leave. I didn't expect the win Hunter, but I do thank you for not just going out and wrecking the game for everyone.
Sorry if I messed with anyone's game.
It was not my intention to bail, but sometime life is knocking on your door and you can't ignore it.
Cheers.
8+8+3+5/4 = 6 I won't be around for the rest of the night due to similar issues for my leaving earlier. Let me know how I fare. Thanks.
