|

October 4th-5th is the 2008 Map Retrospective!!
All Weekend Long
The 2008 Map Retrospective will consist of some online rooms hosting games on maps released in 2008. Come out and play some of the great maps that have been released this year!
Rooms will be open all weekend, so you can show up whenever and play. Games with 5 or more humans will count in the scoring.
Scoring is as follows (for each game with 4+ humans):
8 points for 1st place
5 points for 2nd place
4 points for 3rd place
3 points for 4th place
2 points for 5th place
1 point for 6th place
Each person's score will be calculated as (total points / games) with a minimum of 5 games required. If there is a tie then a tie-breaker match will be played to declare the winner.

Ok dustin, this year's the tie breaker for us!
You got 1st and I got 2nd back in 06 and last year I got 1st and you got 2nd.
So this year is the tie breaker! Woohooo! Lol ... I really just kinda like the 'crown' medals for the retrospects! |

I will be hosting Maryland all weekend.
Do player hosts count Dustin?
If so, mine will be up from about noon EST friday until Monday.

We won't play every single one of the 2008 maps, but will try a bunch of different ones. Come with requests and we'll make it happen.
Only the FEST rooms will count for tourny scoring. I'll make sure to get some Maryland in. |

I changed the requirements to count games with 4 or more humans. You need at least 5 games to get a score in the tournament.
I put up 2 rooms. When I'm awake in some hours they can change maps, or a mod can do it if they're around. |

right now, as if 9:45am (est) the tourney servers are not allowing rookies to guest in.
I assume the settings were left from yesterday's veteran tourney?
Plz adjust asap! |

OK, as you can see by the post time it's almost Noon est.
Rookies are still not able to play.
I understand that this is a mistake and that it will surely be fixed soon, but I also hope you consider the unfairness of this situation.
I dont think any games played should count for the tourney until this is fixed. |

Sorry! Settings have been fixed now.
Tourney goes all day and all night today and tomorrow, so there's still plenty of time. |

BLOBS.
Connecticut was fun, too. Rapa Nui, sure ... Wisconsin was super fun ...
... and most definitely bring back Octagons. That rocked.
But - one mo' time ...
BLOBS. |

Yeah, i kinda got screwed on that game. First my cat knocked over my router which disconnected me. Consequently I turned me into a bot where I lost more than half my men. Then I got back online (after a milkshake) brought my armies back to even and was sacrificed by third to bargain for second. (I really never had a chance at winning, I was just stuck in the game and wouldn't say die).
Great games though and awesome Buffet tunes!
Rock on. |

Oh, that was such a fun map! I remember that one.
Why am I not surprised that JWD was in that one? |

sorry whirl
Normally i don't strike deals for better placement but after 3 hours and being the tourney factor behind i went for the extra point that second place gives.
Hope i make it up to you in Survivor.
Great games everyone in retrospect
/me is still a little unpleased with GK's suicide on him siting boredom as the reason |
