October 2009 is Luxtoberfest 6, a month of contests and the annual Lux Awards. See the Contests page for the event schedule.
The annual Lux Awards are determined through your votes and the winners will be announced during the award ceremonies on October 28th.
People awards:- Best Host
- Most Entertaining Player
- Most Sportsmanlike Player
- Rookie of the Year (2009 rookie list)
- Best Forum Influence
- Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement (current inductees)
- Banished Forever
Alternative Awards TBA: You are invited to give out some of your own awards. Post your categories below.
You can send in votes for up to 3 players in each category. Votes for yourself will not be counted.
Map Awards (view all the 2009 maps):- Best Map of 2009 Overall
and best map in each category:
- Fantasy Realms
- Geographic - Asia/Pacific
- Geographic - Europe
- Geographic - North America
- Geographic - Other
- Geometric Shapes
- Historical
- Space
- World
View all the Maps submitted in 2009 in their categories for review. You can send in a vote for 1 map in each category, or just your 5 favorite maps overall.

/me still thinks there needs to be a "male gigolo" award; its the only one i have a chance of winning.................
mazza contemplates how easy he really has become.........
Also, on a "serious" note, there was meant to be a Dark Ages tourney this yr, but unfortunately, due to family issues, Snyper-pie had to fold it; perhaps we could have a dark Ages Day as one of the Luxtober competitions.........
Also, we did have a US map competition; why not this yr, have a "country" competition- there surely are enough maps that show the different countries in which we live in, we could have a random country competition, where each game, there is a different country eg, 1st game, Israel, 2nd game Lebanon, 3rd game, Anglo-Celtic etc etc etc.......

By "Sometime during Luxtober" does that mean you'll tell us, or we just fling in the votes when its Oct/Luxtober

The Lux awards are about celebrating this game with medals for players achievements in itīs annual competition.
Negative awards should NOT play any part in this celebration imho. |

i have played way over 200 games against Nimmy, and have only seen him turtle ONCE that i can remember.......He MAY be the most likely to NIMHAT, but to turtle?????????????

Ok, last year I suggested that we could have a country vs country tournament (teams or individual). Or maybe country vs country vs US states since you are so frikkin many in the US.
According to Dustin these are the top 10 countries ranked by number of lux purchases:

Netherlands
Denmark
Sweden
I think it could be great fun and I nominate myself for captain of the Swedish team.
C-Rex predicts that Sweden will kick the Aussies out in the quarterfinals.
