Luxtoberfest Survivor RULES!

Survivor will be held Oct. 14th - Oct. 17th this year. I will be holding Preacherman's role as host of this years competition. The Competition will run similar to last year with a few new twists to the missions. You can review any previous Survivors events in the WIKI under Luxtoberfest. Further details will be posted once we get the teams established. The player base for a team will be set at 5 players. Once you get your teams arranged submit your team here in the Survivor forum.

Tournament Settings:
All games will be 2 VS. 2 or 3 vs. 3 or 2 vs. 2 vs. 2 for the elimination rounds and Luxtoberfest Survivor map and also for the finals (same countries, continents, and connections as regular Classic - again, make sure you install it!) with the following settings - 5,5,5 cards with a 0% continent bonus, random countries and a 45 second timer.

Gameplay: TRIBE ELIMINATIONS Oct. 14 -16 all games throughout the tournament with the exception of the finals, the winning team will nominate a member of the losing team. The nominated player (who must have played at least one match for their team) is in limbo and may not play any further games for their team.

Each team is required to play a minimum of 3 games for each elimination day. The top 3 teams with the most wins and most survivors combined will advance to the finals

Finals

Saturday 17th :
Any and all players in limbo are returned to their teams. Finals will be held between the winning teams from the elimination period

Missions:
Missions will be PM'ed to all team members just prior to each game here on the forums. It's important that all members of all teams have valid forum accounts and can check their PM's when instructed to do so. A mission can be completed by an individual player, by all, or any part of a team. Missions may vary, but might include such things as :

- Hold North America & Australia for 3 rounds
- Hold Europe & Australia for 3 rounds
- Hold 30 visible (30+1) armies in both Madagascar & Japan for 2 rounds
- Hold 30 visible (30+1) armies in both Madagascar & Iceland for 2 rounds
- Hold 30 visible (30+1) armies in both Iceland & Japan for 2 rounds
- Hold any 25 countries with at least 3 visible (3+1) armies on each
- Hold Europe, Africa & South America for 2 rounds
- Hold Europe, Africa & Australia for 2 rounds
- Hold 10 visible (10+1) armies on each Capital City (see the map for details)
- Hold 10 visible (10+1) armies on each Red Star (see the map for details)
- Kill player X from the opposing team
- Hold Asia for 2 rounds with at least 5 visible (5+1) armies on each country
- etc, etc.

Other Rules
Unless the mission specifically requests it, you are not allowed to kill a member of the opposing team - if this happens, the team that made the kill loses by default. So think before you click! Any player with only one territory must attack for a card. This means we can't get into a stalemate situation. It goes without saying that there should be no disclosure or hints on mission objectives in the game chat. This obviously defeats the purpose of the game and puts your team at an immediate disadvantage. I strongly suggest the use of IM software for discussing team tactics during games.

Finally - any questions or points needing clarifying, please post them here or PM me and I'll answer all questions. It's highly possible I've missed a possible situation or overlooked something.

***UPDATE***

EACH PLAYER MUST CONQUER A TERRITORY EACH TURN. IF YOU HAVE TROOPS ANYWHERE YOU ARE EXPECTED TO USE THEM TO CARD. THE ONLY CASE THAT WILL HAVE AN EXCEPTION IS IF YOU HAVE NO TROOPS TO ATTACK WITH AT ALL! THAT IS ZERO TROOPS TO ATTACK WITH!

GOOD FRIDAY!

Todays games will go into the TEAM vs TEAM eliminations

Because of lost time and games from day 1

The game requirement today is 5 games

Some teams will most likely be eliminated beforehand if they loose to many missions.

This will definately help narrow the game to our final 3

If more than 3 teams survive their 5 games the top 3 teams with the most wins and survivors will move on to the finals.
