I just got a new win7 pc, replacing my winxp system. I have Lux installed, but is there an easy way to tranfer my settings from the old xp system? I had all the maps installed, reaper ai, etc...do I have to go through the 900 installs again?

I'm not a PC user, so I'm not certain where the plugins are installed, but have you looked here?

C:\Program Files\Lux\

(That folder should contain sub-folders for maps and AIs.)

Make sure you close Lux, and re-launch the app after copying is complete.

Oh, I know where the folder is, but I didn't know if I could just copy and paste the folder because that would crash most programs on any computer system, plus my new system is 64 bit and my old one is 32 bit.

I was looking for which specific files I needed to transfer, and whether or not it would be an issue?

I've played Lux on both Windows xp 32-bit and Windows 7 64-bit. While I have never tried to transfer my Lux files from one computer to another, I haven't seen any noticeable difference in the files (on the rare occasions that I've looked.) I believe the folder that you're interested in is the "support" folder inside the main "Lux" folder. I think you could copy the support folder from one computer to the other and you'd have your desired results. But, before you copy and paste your 'old' support folder (or any other folder for that matter) make sure you backup the original lux folders just in case the process doesn't work. Whenever you modify a game (which essentially you are) be sure to keep backups of the vanilla (original) files.

Strictly speaking, you just need to transfer three folders: the Agents folder, containing all AI (Java) class flies, and misc associated text files; the Themes folder, containing all of the graphic elements for your maps; and the Saved folder, containing all .luxb type map files, which should be located at: C:\Program Files\Lux\Support\Boards\Saved\. There is a fourth MapGenerators folder that you could transfer, assuming you've previously install some map generators, but then again, you could simply re-install using the plug-in manager on your new machine. None of these files are bit type specific, so your transition to 64-bit should be flawless.
