Mafia XXXI - "Mafia's Return" - Game Thread

Once again, the mafia has infiltrated Luxtopia. And death is once again a common occurrence in the streets. A fledgling group of police have taken it upon themselves to root out the evil. Can they succeed?

Rules
-please try to participate and vote every day.
-votes should be bolded and bracketed for clarity: [vote randomguy]
-you are free to [vote no lynch]
-day cycles will end at 1PM EST. Posts timestamped 1:00 will be accepted, 1:01 will not.
-night cycles will last no more than 24 hours, but can be sped up if ALL living players PM me their night action or a check-in message. This ensures that everyone has logged in during the night cycle and there can be no metagaming regarding who may/may not have been around.
-When the day ends, the highest vote-getter will be lynched. If "no lynch" has the most votes, nobody will be lynched.
-In case of ties, the tiebreaker is the longest held last vote. Basically, whoever was first to that number of votes.
-Feel free to talk in the thread at night if you wish, but please no talking after you are dead.

Winning Conditions
Mafia Team: wins when the Mob Bosses reach voting parity with the remaining players. Supporting evil team members count against parity. All evil team members when with the evil team, even if previously killed.
Good Team: wins when all Mob Bosses have been killed. Killing supporting evil members is not required to win. All good team members when with the good team, even if previously killed.

Roles
Mafia Team (evil)
Mob Boss 1: Will know the identity of their fellow Mob bosses. Can PM with other mob bosses.
Mob Boss 2: Will know the identity of their fellow Mob bosses. Can PM with other mob bosses.
Mob Boss 3: Will know the identity of their fellow Mob bosses. Can PM with other mob bosses.

Collectively, the mob bosses can choose each night to kill 1 player. The nightkill will be determined by the most recent order from the highest ranking mob boss (1, 2 then 3) whenever the night cycle ends. If no order is submitted, there will be no kill.

Henchman: A hired hitman working for team evil. Does not know the identity of any other evil player. Each night can check out one player to determine if they are a police investigator. Gets a positive hit on the Chief and the Undercover investigators, negative on all others. Will receive a random negative view night 0. Counts against evil parity.
Thug: A street thug working for team evil. Through street-savvy, they can tell the evil players from the good and will know the identities of all the evil team at the start of the game (but not who are the bosses vs. henchman). No night abilities. Counts against evil parity.

Police Team (good)
Chief Investigator: The chief investigator tails one player each night and can determine if they are a mob boss or not. Will get a positive hit on the 3 mob bosses, negative hit on all other players (including supporting evils). Will get a random negative night 0 view.
Undercover Investigator: The undercover investigator tails one player each night and can determine if they are a "street" evil. Will get a positive hit on the supporting evil (henchman/thug), negative hit on all other players (including mob bosses). Will get a random negative night 0 view.
SWAT Captain: The swat captain is one tough hombre. He defies parity, meaning if it comes down to 1v1 with a Mob Boss vs the SWAT captain, the good team will prevail. He also has a quick trigger finger - if he is killed via any means, he will take one person (of their choice) down with them.
Rookie Cop: The rookie cop is eager to please. Each night he patrols one residence and if that person is targeted for a night kill, the rookie cop with take the bullet instead (and will be killed in their place).
2 Buddy Cops: The buddy cops patrol together and are free to PM eachother. They do everything together. They will die to protect their partner - if either Buddy Cop is killed via any means, the other will die as well.
6 Beat Cops: You are regular police officers, trying to lynch the evil team.

Just to be sure I have this right... the three Mob Bosses can PM each other only (they can't PM the Henchman and Thug), and the other Mafia Team members (Henchman and Thug) cannot PM anyone... is that correct?

That is correct. The Mob Bosses are free to PM eachother and coordinate night kill activities. They can not communicate with any other player (and don't even know the identity of the henchman or thug). The Henchman is working for the evil side but does not know any other evil identities. The thug knows the others but has no action. Neither of them are allowed to communicate with anyone else.

These communication rules are important for the game to work correctly as it forces communication from both sides into the thread. Please don't cheat.

Wow, round one of a forum game.... I am alive. Plan on me being dead in 24 hours or so. In the mean time, I know that n00less cluebie can use the fact that I die in every forum game in the first round as a way to get a joke rolling, but I fear his ultimate reason is a nefarious one.

Technically I voted for Whirlplaid before I knew my role or the game started; so if I switched my vote NOW it would appear suspicious as if i knew what his role was; alas I do not so I will leave my vote as is; though I do not encourage anyone else to vote for Whirly unless they have good info otherwise; or if they want to vote him off because it's be frickin hilarious....

If people want to "lock" their votes, and a majority do so, we can end the day early. Just [lock vote] to lock it. Once locked, a vote can't be changed and any future votes that same day won't count.

OK, since it appears I am about to be lynched (I am the only one to receive a vote on the first day) and since I put it out there that n00less must have nefarious plans in mind and since he hasn't changed his vote and "locked it in" to "lynch whirlplaid" n00less must be a bad guy.

Why? Because I am an innocent beat cop. When I turn up lynched and you see that I am telling the truth, you will also have confirmation that n00less has evil intentions.

I still [vote no lynch, lock vote].

Let my death serve as a confirmation of n00less's evil ways.
