Mafia XXXVI ROLES AND SIGN UPS

Post by n00less cluebie » Wed Jun 26, 2013 2:57 pm

Welcome to the sign-ups for Mafia XXXVI.

In General, the Day-Night cycle will switch at 5:00 PM EDT. Any votes made after that time will not be counted regardless if I miss a post. Saturday will be a "Day of Rest" and any cycle we are in will continue until Sunday evening. I may end nights early if all actions are submitted early, in which case the Daytime portion may be extended with the extra time. If the Game begins before July 4th, we'll decide whether to have a cycle-change on that day.

Rules:

0. All decisions of the Game-Moderator are final, unless I choose otherwise. All decisions made by the Game Moderator are correct for some value of correct.

1. During the Day phase, all players may vote to send someone to Time Out. The player(s) with the most votes against them will be sent to Time Out and may not take any actions during the Night. They will be taken out of the nursery at dawn the following morning, unless pardoned.

2. You will not be forced to vote in this game. There will be no narrator-enforced penalty for not voting. I’ll let your fellow players take care of that.

3. During the Night phase, you may PM any actions consistent with your character to me. Actions will take place according to the Order of Night Actions. Multiple actions in one category will take place in the order received.

4. Please do not post PMs, or break any other Forum Rules.

5. Do not edit posts.

6. The Crier can't heal the same person two Nights in a row, but she can heal/protect himself.

Roles:

The Brats - Evil Babies trying to eliminate the rest of the babies in the nursery by making them poop their diapers....

Girl with the Curl (Godfather) "There was a little girl, Who had a little curl, Right in the middle of her forehead. When she was good, She was very good indeed, But when she was bad she was horrid." Investigates as INNOCENT, but leads the brats, and can, each night send a brat out to feed another baby some castor oil causing him or her to poop his/her diaper. In the morning, the Nanny removes any baby from the nursery with a poopy diaper, but strangely, never returns that baby back. . . . Can choose a replacement if she is eliminated

The Pacifier (Mafia)
Can be sent out by the Girl with the Curl to stick a pacifier into the mouth of another baby. If that baby posts ANYTHING in the thread in the following morning, she will choke on the pacifier and mysteriously die the following evening. NOTE: DOES NOT WORK ON THE COLICKY KID!!

Castor Kinder (Mafia) Can be sent out by the Girl with the Curl to spoon some castor oil into another baby causing him to poop his diaper....

The Playpen players - Happy Smiling babies just trying to make it through another day with a clean diaper....

The Monitor (Investigator) This baby has managed to get her hands on Mommy's audio monitor and can use it to find out what one baby is doing each night....

The Sniffer (Sheriff) This baby has quite the schnozz and can sniff out if a baby is a brat or not (though he's quite easily fooled by the Girl With a curl into thinking she's innocent.

The Crier (Doctor) This baby never sleeps through the night, but cries every night, waking Daddy so he comes into the nursery and changes any baby the Crier points to, before morning comes and the Nanny inspects the babies.

The Colicky Kid (Governor/Town Spokesman) Oh. My. God. Will this baby just SHUT UP ALREADY!!!! We'll count his vote twice if only to keep him quiet for a few minutes....Once per game the Colicky Kid can keep someone voted for elimination from being removed from the room, maybe he'll shut up if his friend is still here....

Happy Smiling Baby (Vanilla Townie)
Eats, Poops, Sleep. Rinse Repeat. Votes to eliminate another baby from the nursery each day

OTHERS
Some babies don't get along with ANYBODY!

The Teether (Serial Killer) Ouch! Teeth sure hurt! Each night this baby wakes up because of teething pain, and so starts to chew on another baby. Alas this baby's victim is taken out of the nursery in the morning to help heal her bite marks!

Hmmmmm....9 is not really enough for a full-game. I'd really like 14 as a minimum. I'll give it another week, though summertime is usually tough to get a Mafia going. Feel free to advertise it to Luxxers who don't make it to the forums....

If this starts very soon and doesn't go on too long, I'll be able to play. Otherwise, I'm going on vacation from July 24 to Aug. 1 and won't be on the internet during that time.

So, I guess what I'm saying is, this either needs to happen fast, or not happen for a couple of weeks. I'd be fine with waiting a little longer to see if more people can play at a later date, and if Lantern might be able to get back in after a few weeks. But I understand that waiting too long can cause people to drop out, too. :smt102

I'm going to put a "drop dead" date for sign-ups for this Friday Afternoon (July 12) to begin on Sunday July 14th. I'd like to hear from as many players as possible if they want to go through with this, or put it off til mid-August (I'll be away Aug 6-12)

too few ppl i think for the amount of roles.

an old school wolves v. sheep version might work with this few players. no roles, no actions, no items. just odds and math and private messages.

If we go with what we have, I'll reduce the number of roles significantly

I think we're good to go! Lantern: can you add an "X" to the subject? Somehow we ended up 10 games in the past, also we seem to have Schroberts listed twice. . . .
