Would be nice if you had an option to track the moves made by the players so that lux could play it back so you could "watch" the game again.
Basically, it would be the ability to record a game.
Should just be a text file that could be easily saved, or perhaps linked to from the stats page for the last 10 games or whatnot, downloadable by the players.
Probably pretty far out there on the wish list, but damn - wouldn't that be cool to be able to play back the game you just finished? Analyze the play, see who really did screw up where, look for your missed opportunity or marvel at the clever stategy of your opponent?
Would sure put an end to he said/she said with lux games - and when someone is a real jerk, the game can be clearly posted to show exactly what a dick thing then did and how others responded.
It might really help people become more conscious of their play and be more respectful of others, help create the type caring community that can really make the difference in fun play and good times.

| I always thought it would be cool to "save" game scenarios so that you could replay them in the future. You could even change positions at certain points in games with your opponents so that you can see how different strategies will lead to different outcomes. This would be some damn tough programming, however... |

Yes, it would be quite cool to be able to use a saved game as a map "starting scenario", so we can try the fight from a particular point.
This could be a lot of fun for the "playing for 2nd" scenario - one play throws in the towel and decides player B has the game and takes out player C. Let's take that from that decision point...And voila! Apparently it wasn't too late, and player B could be knocked back out of the win.
Could be interesting.
I agree it would be more complex to program, however.
I would be very happy with the simple ability to re-play the moves in a game.
This REALLY would be handy, so that when someone comes on to the forums and posts "so-and-so suicided on me" we can simply play back the game and see exactly what did happen.
Less he said, she said and more facts.
Facts are good.

Save game and restore are on the to-do list (but it's a long list...).
A move-by-move replay is more difficult because of how Lux's networking currently works. |

Well, play by play replay sure would be nice. I have tried recording games using snapz pro, which works, but is too big of files since it is graphic data.
Since I also have some programming experience, I was thinking perhaps I would look into a robot that can monitor games - a robot should see every move that goes through the game, so it could theoretically save the script.
Playback would be setting 6 of these robots in a game together, each taking one player's part.
It just occurred to me that this idea is doomed, however, because even if every single player took the exact same move each game the end result would be different because of dice.
bummer.
Well, I think this feature would be extremely worthwhile and would love to see it eventually make it into lux.

So dustin...
I am dying in the world of lux without the ability to record and playback games. I seem to be under a non-stop barage of attacks regarding my game play. I feel 1000% confident that this could all be resolved if people could actually see the games that I play, in particular, the games that people get pissed off about.
What can I do to coax you to add this feature? I think it would SIGNIFICANTLY improve the quality of life in the lux world. People would be more respectful, players would be more honest, games would be more fun.
This one tool would help more to "clean up" lux and make people play more responsibly then any other system devised to date.
Did the player suicide? Here, watch the tape - you tell me. Over and over in the forums people post about this bad play or that bad play. Attach the playback script to the forum post, let people look for themselves.
What can I do to tickle you into adding this feature? Perhaps you have a favorite beer? Perhaps you have a favorite chocolate? Perhaps you have a favorite bank account you like cash deposited into? What can I do to make this function happen? I can donate an expert professional programmer to the cause....Whatever it takes! This feature is a must-have, it would do wonders to improving the quality of the lux experience.
If you haven't seen it already, check out this post for an example of what I am talking about:

BTW, if it is easier from a programming standpoint, it would be fine if recording only worked from the host of the game.
