I have been in many games where I have seen someone who is new and as soon as they try to play and attack another player, that player gets mad, like we all do when we are attacked, and then insults him until the new player realizes that its not fun to play lux online because everybody's mean to him.

Remember that lux is spread mostly by word of mouth and we owe it to sillysoft not to give it a bad name.

Also remember that we don't want to play against the same people over and over--new blood is good.

And finally, remember that we were all noobs once and there is no way for someone to gain experience except by playing.

Slippery Lizard wonders if Miss Chaos likes Cheeto's? Either that or she's going deer hunting.

Some of the so-called seasoned veterans (certainly not limited to the General) are sounding more paranoid than I can ever remember. Should newbs not attack in this war game until they "learn" the etiquette? Is it logical to assume that every new player is an alias since they attack? I play most of my games against bots... and they sometimes seem to target and team on me. Are they aliases? We must have entered into the "Look Out! Everyone is an Alias" epoch in Lux.

Surprised

I'm tellin ya, Sas, that is exactly what is happening, and it is insane.
We, as a community have lost perspective and it sucks. If I would have attempted to join the community a few months after I did, I would never have stayed, I think.
Intentionally over the last two weeks, i let my raw score bottom out. Not that I cared that much in the first place, but I am trying to care even less as I watch good people become not so good people.

You certainly missed the point.
I do not give a damn about an n00b smashing his armies into mine.

But I do give a damn when an alias (who had full control on NA since the start of the game) migrate all his armies into Europe while I have 95% of my armies there.
An n00b no matter how stupid he is will never drop an easy continent like NA (no one had armies there, he had it easily) and move all his armies into Europe while another player is already building since the start.

The only explanation is that this player has a hidden agenda.
I saw it, Mouldy saw it as well as other players.
When MD booted him no one complained, since his behavior was “fishy”.
He was very quick to post in the forum, and that confirms even more his goal - which is to target certain players.
This doesn't reflect an n00b behavior at all.

K, if I may offer this, I have to say that telling or suggesting to a player which continent he/she should take will rarely, if ever work.
Literally, almost every other game I am in, someone will type "Take NA" or "Go Africa". That alone will compel me to go for whatever they don't want me to take. Each player is playing for themselves, not to make it easier for their opponent.
No offense, bro, but why didn't you go for NA?

Pope,

it's been like 6 month i stopped calling continents.
just join any game I play in, I don't call conts anymore.

when this game started, I had 0 armies in NA and like 8 in eu.
he had like 10 in NA and 1 on iceland.

he wasn't going for a fair fight, he was simply going for a block.
swopping continents would have been simply a waste of time and energy.
