Lux Hosting Router IP Instructions for Linux

Here is how you find out your router IP address on Linux:

• Open a new terminal.
• In the window that opens, type '/sbin/ip route show'
• Look for the line that says "default via". The IP address on that line should be your router's IP address.

To find out your local IP address:

• From the previous command, the string after "dev", is the device that is connected to your router (usually something like eth0, or wlan0).
• To get the IP address to forward the port to, type '/sbin/ifconfig device', where device is the device name above (ie: '/sbin/ifconfig eth0')
• The first IP address on the line that says "inet addr:" in your internal IP address.
