3 Kingdoms China Sanguo After the fall of the Han Dynasty in 189 AD various warlords fought to unify China, dreaming of starting a new dynasty. After thirty years of fighting between warlords, an uneasy peace has been reached between three newly established kingdoms. By 221 AD, the three most powerful warlords (Cao Cao, Liu Bei, and Sun Quan) had divided China into three kingdoms; Wei in the north, Shu in the southwest, and Wu in the southeast.
