Theatrum Historicum I--Punic Wars Map

Theatrum Historicum (literally, Historic Theater) is a map covering Europe, North Africa, and West Asia. Based on a map in David Rumsey's map collection, this board provides a good base for historical scenarios. The first map in the Theatrum Historicum series takes place at the time of the second Punic War. The powers in play are Rome, Carthage, Greece, Egypt (under the Ptolemys), Seleucid Persia, and the Barbarians. Each power has a different base of strength, ranging from small and rich areas to broad expanses of land. Rome and Carthage are arch-enemies in constant conflict over the Western Mediterranean. In the east, Persia, Egypt, and Greece battle over the Fertile Crescent while the Barbarians look for an opportunity to sieze rich territories in the south. Created by Daniel Myers.
