Unbeknownst to the Finns, this non-aggression pact placed Finland and most of Eastern Europe into a Soviet "sphere of influence." The USSR immediately demanded that Finland cede the Karelian isthmus. Finland has refused. Now, Finland has been forced to mobilize their small forces and prepare for an overwhelming onslaught. The Soviet army outnumbers the Finns 3 to 1.
