 | Barbary Wars version 1.1 rated 3.6 (85 votes) by Mark Bauer | America has finally thrown off the shackles of British rule, but now a new threat is confronting the fledgling republic...Pirates! And not just any pirates, but Barbary Pirates! For decades the rogue Barbary States have been padding their bank accounts with the ludicrous ransoms extorted from the major maritime powers of the world. America has been forced to pay tribute to the Barbary rulers in exchange for passage through the Mediterranean and access to the rich trade routes of the east. Now, the Pirates are getting greedy and have upped their already exorbitant ransom. The year is 1801, the day of Jefferson's inauguration, Tripoli has just demanded payment of $225,000! The normally pacifist Jefferson is enraged and has dispatched the American Navy along with a detachment of Marines to finally settle the score and show these pirates that there's a new boss in town. America's first MidEast war has begun! From the halls of Montezuma to the Shores of Tripoli, fight for what is rightfully yours!
Scenario set up (Random Start off):
Player 1: U.S. Navy
Player 2: Tripoltan Pirates
Player 3: Tunisian Pirates
Player 4: Algerian Pirates
Player 5: Moroccan Pirates
Scenario is best when the Pirates team together against the U.S. Navy (Nef, Reaper, BOD). |

But there is only enough oil for one nation to survive! The colonies on Mars are fighting for the oil reserve! The four nations are fighting on Earth - attempting to sabotage and destroy eachother's space programs! And they all need the International Space Station as a launching point for their landings on Mars. Who will gain control and conquer the others?

 | Devil's Brigade version 1.1 rated 3.6 (78 votes) by Devil's Brigade TV | By the time the FSSF arrived in Italy, the Allies had tried many times to remove the German army from its entrenched positions along what was known as the Camino massif. The positions held by the Axis forces blocked the only clear path to Rome sizeable enough to move an army. The Allies' plan was to knock one of the Axis powers out of the war entirely. Italy was the selected target.
Upon arrival at the Camino massif, the two targets selected for the FSSF were Monte la Difensa and Monte la Remetanea. The first, Difensa, appeared to be virtually impregnable. The dormant volcano provided the German troops with an ideal defensive position. Armed with machine guns and mortars, the German defenders could easily hold off an assault on the ramp-like southern slope which offered the only passable approach to the top. The northern face of the mountain featured almost vertical 200-foot high cliffs. Two previous attempts to take Difensa had been made on the southern slope by the 3rd and 36th US Infantry Divisions. Both attempts had been made with roughly 20,000 men, and both had been repelled with a high casualty rate. The Allies were no closer to taking Difensa.
Six hundred men of the First Special Service Force were assigned a position that thousands of men had failed to take. The FSSF had been in the field only once before, for the Kiska mission, and heavy combat was expected for Difensa. It was to be a trial by fire for the new Force.

 | The Crusades version 1.0 rated 3.6 (77 votes) by Daniel Myers | In the 1100s, the Crusaders set out from Europe to wrest the Holy Land from the Moslems. This map portrays the theater of the Crusades, focusing in particular on the Holy Land itself. The Holy Land is shown magnified in an inset, a larger view of the main map in that area.
There are six powers in the Crusader scenario:
The Crusaders start aboard ship in the Mediterranean with a mighty army and a variety of potential targets.
The Fatimids are the Moslem power in Egypt, and a key player in the Holy Land.
The Seljuk Turks are the Fatimids' Moslem rival from the East, based in Persia and the Fertile Crescent. They are the third power in the Holy Land.
The Rum Seljuks are a branch of the Seljuk Turks in Anatolia, and are the bitter rival of the Christian Byzantines.
The Byzantine Empire, based in mighty city of Constantinople, is the remnent of the once-proud Roman Empire.
The Holy Roman Empire represents Christian Europe and the Catholic Church in Rome. |
|
 | Satsuma Rebellion version 1.2 rated 3.6 (76 votes) by Kartofile | From 1639 to 1854, Japan's government banned virtually all contact between its people and the outside world, isolating and preserving its feudal society while the rest of the world underwent two centuries of enormous change. When the policy was reversed and the country finally reopened, Japan was thrust from a medieval era into an industrial one. Many samurai resisted the new order but were overpowered by the imperial government and its modern army. They made their final stand in 1877, led by Saigo Takamori in the province of Satsuma. Their story was the basis for the fictional 2003 film, “The Last Samurai.” |

 | Caribbean Sea 1713 version 1.0 rated 3.6 (71 votes) by Neil Melville | 1713 - The Golden Age of Piracy
With the War of Spanish Succession coming to a close, few privateers could obtain Letters of Marque. The large number of capable ships and crews found scarce government support and with all the rich cargoes sailing to and from the Spanish Main, these hardened sea men often turned to piracy.
Try your hand at controlling the caribbean shipping lanes and claim the riches of the new world. Each complete trade route adds to your wealth, as do alliances with european nations. Sea ports are the strategic control points between trade routes, but are expensive to maintain. Piracy is an option that provides tactical advantage of agility at the cost of fleet size.
30 trade routes in 70 segments, 21 ports, and 6 special areas.

 | Europe Large 2--The Thirty Years War version 1.1 rated 3.6 (71 votes) by Daniel Myers | Edited--The download should work now; I did not realize that ":" in the title caused a problem.
Based on the Europe Large map, this map alters the continents for much better balance, and to reflect the situation during the Thirty Years War. I made sure that the continents were worth an appropriate amount for their relative influence during that war, and separated Germany in two to reflect the religious split. I essentially lowered the continent values across the board, according to a new formula. This map has many, many places to start with a chance at winning, rather than the four or so in Europe Large original. I have extensively tested this map with the AI, and according to my records, Cluster, EvilPixie, Quo, and Yakool have performed the best in AI-only matches. I suspect, however, that EvilPixie will provide the best single-player challenge.
Version 1.1: New scenario added. The powers are the Ottoman Empire, the Hapsburgs of Spain and Austria, the French, the Empire of all Russias, the Swedish/Danish/North German Protestant Alliance, and the Anglo-Dutch alliance. The Ottomans are the strongest, and it may take diplomacy to shoot them down. Their army is not the strongest, but their economy is mighty (they get a lot of reinforcements.) They win nearly half the games. Spain/Austria is also powerful, and probably has the most troops. However, their position is weak, in that they have two power bases. They need to try to connect them; hence their eyes turn on France. France is surrounded by enemies, but is strong militarily. It will be hard to win from their position...but they did in real life, under the leadership of Cardinal Richeleau. They must make alliances to survive, as their borders are long and hard to defend. The Russians were not yet as powerful as they would be later, and were a backward nation. But they were big, and their army is fairly large. Also, they are protected to the North and East. They have a solid strategic position, but they must watch for their mighty southern neighbors. The Anglo/Dutch alliance is not very strong in armies, but also does not have very many borders to defend. An alliance of the English and the Swedish could yield excellent results. The Swedish, Danish, and North German alliance is vulnerable, but militarily strong. Their borders are long. They have a difficult position, and cannot afford to fight all of their neighbors at once.
As you can see, this map is made for diplomacy. Enjoy! |

 | Theatrum Historicum I--Punic Wars version 1.2 rated 3.6 (67 votes) by Daniel Myers | Theatrum Historicum (literally, Historic Theater) is a map covering Europe, North Africa, and West Asia. Based on a map in David Rumsey's map collection, this board provides a good base for historical scenarios.
The first map in the Theatrum Historicum series takes place at the time of the second Punic War. The powers in play are Rome, Carthage, Greece, Egypt (under the Ptolemys), Seleucid Persia, and the Barbarians. Each power has a different base of strength, ranging from small and rich areas to broad expanses of land.
Rome and Carthage are arch-enemies in constant conflict over the Western Mediterranean. In the east, Persia, Egypt, and Greece battle over the Fertile Crescent while the Barbarians look for an opportunity to sieze rich territories in the south. |
|
 | Otago Harbour version 1.3 rated 3.6 (65 votes) by Brad Peckham | Hold onto Otago Harbour for the most armies and a chance to attack past Port Chalmers and down into the heart of the city of Dunedin. Dunedin itself also grants many armies, but it is large and sprawling, making it tough to control. Mt. Gregory to the north can provide a good alternate base.
The scenerio simulates a sea force landing against well entrenched land forces in a fight for supremacy. |
|
 | Utah Wars version 1.1 rated 3.6 (60 votes) by Mark Bauer | The Mormons, having finally escaped persecution, settled in the dry and arid regions of the American Southwest. As their numbers grew, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints pushed for the formation of their very own State, Deseret. This brought them back into conflict with the US government, who adamantly opposed the Mormon practice of plural marriage and deemed it "un-American and rebellious." The American public was whipped into a frenzy as erroneous reports spread of an open Mormon rebellion. In a hasty move President Buchanan dispatched a large regiment of federal troops to quell the perceived uprising. Now the troops are quickly approaching and the residents of Utah are panicked. Their leader, Brigham Young, has urged his followers to "whip them out" by any means necessary. Meanwhile, the Ute chief Black Hawk has taken this opportunity to feed his starving people. An alliance of Utes, Navajo, and Paiute Indians are steeling cattle and sacking Mormon outposts all over the region. The deadliest and most destructive conflict in the American West has erupted!
Scenario set up (Random Start off)
Player 1 - US Military
Player 2 - Latter Day Saints
Player 3 - Chief Atonga Black Hawk
*Fun fact - The note features actual quotes from Brigham Young in regards to the Utah War of 1857. |

 | Florida - Tourist Revolt version 1.1 rated 3.6 (56 votes) by Mark Bauer | Supplies of taxidermy alligator heads and faux driftwood are running dangerously low due to a labor dispute at the local factory. This seemingly insignificant fact has thrown the state of Florida into chaos as the tourists immediately go through tacky souvenir withdrawal and revolt against Florida's normally complacent natives. All over the state tourist hotspots become bloody battlegrounds. Florida's residents are at first in shock, but are soon forced to defend their sunny homeland against this barbaric invasion of bright shirts, slow drivers, and oversized straw hats. The tourist Mecca of Orlando is growing increasingly stronger as a constant stream of tourists fly into Orlando International Airport. Will Florida fall under the thumb of the oppressive tourists? Or will the residents rise up and proclaim; "enough is enough, no more Mickey Mouse!" You decide!

 | Wisconsin - Beaver Wars version 1.1 rated 3.6 (54 votes) by Mark Bauer | The fur trade has reached a pinnacle on the new continent. The price and demand for beaver belts has skyrocketed, and with it bloodshed along the Great Lakes region. The Sauk and Fox Indians have formed an alliance against further French encroachment and domination of the region. But their Huron brethren are hungry for French goods and aren't so willing to take up arms. In a desperate attempt to break the French and Huron friendship, Sauk and Fox warriors raid French trading posts and forts, disrupting the trade routes running along the many rivers of Wisconsin. Now the French are furious and send a garrison of their finest troops to quell the Indian resistance and ensure the continued flow of profits.
*Rules:
-Follow the dotted lines to attack along the rivers.
-Any area that is touching a fort may attack that fort.

 | New Hampshire - The Last First Primary version 1.2 rated 3.6 (34 votes) by Mark Bauer | The front-runner for the nomination of the President of the United States misinterpreted the media's definition of a "battleground" state. Taking the term literally, the candidate brought his own private army to New Hampshire assuming that it must be conquered by force in order to win the election. Not wanting to appear weak, all the other candidates followed suite. Soon the tiny northeastern State was at war, as each candidate fought desperately to conquer every corner and "convince" every voter. The last, first primary has begun and it's safe to say that this election season has started off with a bang! |

 | Kingdom of Ayrlawn version 1.1 rated 3.5 (126 votes) by SunTzu | THE KINGDOM OF AYRLAWN
King Albert III ruled the Kingdom of Ayrlawn from the fabled towers of Ayrlawn Citadel. During most of his reign, peace was the natural state of affairs and the realm prospered.
During the last years of his reign, however, the various lords began to quibble over everything, rehashing old arguments and reigniting long-dead rivalries. The king suspected it was the work of a sinister group of malcontents, but he was too busy trying to keep the King's Peace to root them out.
Finally, just before the annual Harvest Festival, King Albert and his entire family were murdered in their beds by assassins hired by the Semi-Holy Cult of Lux. With no remaining heirs, the cult seized the throne and decreed that the Kingdom of Ayrlawn would henceforth be ruled by the High Council, made up of their own members.
The various lords throughout the realm were horrified by these actions, and were surprised to find out that most of their advisors were members of this sinister cult. They resolved to band together to rid the land of these malevolent extremists.
The rebellion was put down, but with heavy costs to the realm. After the last remaining members of the Semi-Holy Cult of Lux were put to the sword, only five powerful lords were strong enough to contend for the throne:
I. Earl Mouyard at Ayrlawn Citadel
II. Baron Sant at Greycastle
III. Duke Bauer at Helmsgard Keep
IV. Count Daughenbaugh at Devoncourt
V. Duke Henderson at Blackfyre Keep
Will one of these claimants win the crown? Or will the peasants rise up and install a new republic?
SCENARIO INFORMATION:
I suggest using Empty Bot for the sixth player, or the peasants will take up arms and revolt against the lords! |

 | Hawaiian Kingdom version 2.0 rated 3.5 (107 votes) by Kartofile | In 1893 a group of white businessmen in Honolulu toppled Queen Lili'uokalani and established their own government with the goal of becoming a U.S. territory. Your challenge is to unify the islands and restore native rule before the kingdom loses its independence. (In real life there was no major native backlash, and U.S. annexation took place in 1898.)
Version 2.0 makes the palace somewhat more visible and gives it a separate bonus of its own. The islands of O'ahu and Hawai'i have been split into Windward and Leeward continents and the starting situation has been updated as well. Enjoy! |

SCENARIO - 221 AD
WEI - Cao Cao
SHU - Liu Bei
WU - Sun Quan
Wei is by far the most powerful kingdom, controlling the northern half of China. Shu controls the mountainous regions in the southwest, and Wu controls the river and lake regions in the southeast.
The only real chance for Liu Bei and Sun Quan is to form an alliance and fight against the powerful Cao Cao to the north. Cao Cao, on the other hand, tries to disrupt the southern alliance and exert its territorial advantage over the two weaker kingdoms.

 | Hex, Cubed version 1.1 rated 3.5 (84 votes) by Preacherman | v1.1 provides a 6 player starting scenario.
Shamelessly milking the Hex series for all it's worth, Hex Cubed provides literally minutes of fun for the experienced Luxer. Smile wryly to yourself as Noobs try and figure out how to actually take continents. Shake your head as you painstakingly have to explain it to them over and over again. Grimace as the same tired old shapes and themes start making your eyes go funny. And curse me as you begin to wonder why you ever bothered downloading it. On a brighter note, this will probably be the last in the Hex series, as let's face it - it's just not that much fun anymore. |

D., Varangian raiders from Scandinavia invaded the Ukraine and founded the Kievan state, which would quickly grow to become the most powerful nation in Eastern Europe. The Kievan Rus' greatest competitor (and cultural parnter) was the Byzantine Empire on the far shores of the Black Sea, but the new state also faced opposition from the Magyars and Germanic tribes to the West, and from the Finnic and Central Asian peoples to the North and East. |
