 | North America version 1.3 rated 3.3 (113 votes) by Griz | Violate the NAFTA! North America is now for the taking.
Includes a few twists - Ontario can't attack Quebec because zay cannot understand ze French road signs plus a few of the Mexican states on the US border have secret one way attack routes...blame it on the tunnels. Enjoy.

 | ww2_Europe_1940 version 3.8 rated 3.3 (106 votes) by davide nahaissi | The 3rd installment in the world at war series!
with = 1458
height = 607
This is inspired to the already existent WWII Europe scenario.
I used a satellite Europe map as background and defined better the continents.
All fleets have a -1 bonus.
The borders are the ones of 1940 Europe; Poland is splitted between Germany and USSR.
- The presence of the Maginot line allowed Franch to invade germany but not vice versa;
- The germans were the only who could pass through the ardennas forest (twice). So Germany can invade Paris area but not viceversa.
Enjoy!
In ver 3.3 I changed the initial owner of Canada.
Just an hint: since a lot of countries are quite small, disable the "Show army graphics" option in the preferences to get a less confused board.. |

 | Age of Genghis Khan version 1.3 rated 3.3 (105 votes) by France | Conquer the old world in the Age of Genghis Khan! Start out as a crusading Kingdom, Arabic Sultanate, Chinese Dynasty, Japanese Empire, or as the Mongols themselves. Boundaries and borders based on established states and ethnic groups' ranges during that era. Note sea connections: Japan to Korea and Southern Song, France to Britain and Ireland, Scotland to Norway, and Italy to Greece and the Holy Land. Ideology based scenario. Ideal set up would be with low continent bonuses. |

|
 | Cretaceous version 1.1 rated 3.3 (90 votes) by Evan Williams | One hundred million years ago, the first Tyrannosaur opened its eyes and gazed out at a world it intended to rule. First, however, it would have to deal with its competition...
Welcome to the Middle Cretaceous! Earth's geography is recognizable, but only barely: the Alps, Himalayas, and Rockies are all nonexistent; shallow seas cover and divide much of North America and Eurasia; Antarctica, still connected to Australia, is a lush paradise instead of an uninhabitable wasteland; and India is separated from the rest of Asia by the world's second largest ocean, the now-forgotten Tethys.
Tactically, this map forces you to choose between offense and defense. Will you station your armies on your borders in order to harass enemies and keep constant control of your continents, or will you keep them at the center where they can respond to attacks from any direction? Will you go out on a limb to control multiple continents, or will you defend one heavily while taking extra countries where you can? Will you guard valuable chokepoints, or leave them for other powers to fight over? Fighting too many wars simultaneously can only destroy you, but passivity can leave you unprepared to face an emerging dominant power.
Good luck!

 | Diamonds version 1.3 rated 3.3 (88 votes) by Eric Nusbaum | This level is pretty cool. 64 countries across 18 continents. Make sure to watch the "Ring" and the "Center" continents, as they are worth quite a bit. The "Ring" also provides interesting mobility from one continent to another. Also look out for the "Link" single-country continents.

 | Throne version 1.2 rated 3.3 (80 votes) by Eric Nusbaum | There are two halves to this map - upper and lower. The Crown continent can attack ANY country in the upper half. But the Perim continent is the gateway to the lower half. Crown cannot attack Perim, so you must use the bottom countries in the upper half to get to Perim. 96 countries spread among 14 continents, in total. Give it a try!

 | Lux Phforever version 1.0 rated 3.3 (75 votes) by Preacherman | This is a map I've been meaning to make phfor a while - not because the map itself kicks much ass, but because the game on which it is based DID. Anyone with a Mac will (or should) be phfamiliar with Bungie's infamous Marathon Trilogy which set the standard for FPS games, and many people still consider it unrivaled in it's genre.
Aimed at the segment of the Lux community that knows what a pair of WST-EM5 shotguns will do to a S'pht (currently myself and el toro) this map places the player back onboard the U.E.S.C Marathon. Unfortunately, Dustin hasn't made the awesome arsenal available in the game available to the Lux Community (probably a good idea), so you'll have to do with SET's dice.
If you enjoy the map, play the game - Aleph One is an open source project which allows you to play Marathon, Durandal and Infinity online, and is available free of charge from http://source.bungie.org/get/

 | Mediterranean Empires version 1.3 rated 3.3 (72 votes) by Nimrod7 | Alexander The Great has died and his Generals have divided his empire until his son is old enough to rule. | North Polar Chart 1882 version 1.2 rated 3.3 (70 votes) by top row | update - version 1.2 scenario added
The North Polar Chart mapped the known arctic coastlines at the time. An international effort was underway to conduct a synchronous exploration and scientific discovery of the north polar region.
Since exploration and mapping of the entire arctic was not complete at the time, the map has a large unexplored region around the pole. Also, Franz Josef Land north of Siberia, is innacurate. The country and province borders and names are accurate to the 1880's. For example, all of Ireland was part of Great Britain at the time.
Unless a line connects an island to another land mass, it is not connected. |
|
 | North America Tribal War version 1.5 rated 3.3 (64 votes) by Neil Melville | Alternate Reality North America - where Native American technology is equal to the invading Medieval Europeans. The players represent the Russian, Spanish, French, English, Viking, Iroquois, and Aztec Nations.
54 countries - 8 continents, 9 castles.
800 pixels high, 720 wide.
Armies cannot normally cross major bodies of water such as Lake Winnepeg, the Great Lakes, The Colorado River, the Mississippi, and the Rio Grande. Special crossings are guarded by forts. There are also a few established routes for war barges on the open sea.
This is the first map I have created. I wanted a North America map that was less complicated for a quick fun game. |

 | Battle Of Europe version 1.0 rated 3.3 (52 votes) by David Blumberg | After WWII the European Union was created to encourage cooperation and peace on the continent, and for the next 200 years the peoples of Europe lived together as one. But the project that started out as a coal and steel union soon became too bloated and bureaucratic, and some nations refused to comply with EU regulations. Other member-states took offence to this and imposed sanctions and blockades.
As the EU slowly crumbled, new alliances were formed. Sweden joined the Scandinavian and Baltic states and created the Nordic Alliance, while Germany joined its closest neighbours to form a Central power. France, Spain, Portugal and Italy joined forces in the West, while the Balkan states, Greece, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria and Moldova formed an alliance in the East. Russia reconnected with some of its former satellites while Britain remained true to its isle and joined Ireland.
Tension between the different alliances was on the rise and war finally broke out when the Central Alliance invaded and reclaimed Kaliningrad. The rest of Europe began their own wars of conquest and so the peace was broken... |

 | NAPOLEON - First Italian Campaign version 1.0 rated 3.3 (47 votes) by SunTzu | NAPOLEON: First Italian Campaign (1796)
On March 2, 1796 the Directors of the French Republic appointed Napoleon Bonaparte as the commander-in-chief of the Army of Italy. This was primarily a political manoeuvre, getting the ambitious young artillery commander - recently promoted to general at the age of 26 - out of Paris and relegating him to the most neglected of the French Republic's thirteen principal field armies.
Almost immediately after Napoleon arrived he began a whirlwind campaign in Northern Italy. Within two weeks he defeated the Sardinians in Piedmont. After a brief respite he marched eastward and drove the Austrians out of Lombardy, taking control of Milan.
Napoleon then wanted to pursue the Austrians into Tyrol, but the French Directory in Paris ordered him to swerve south, attacking the Duchy of Parma, the Duchy of Modena, the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, and the Papal States. In less than a month Napoleon was back in Milan, having successfully achieved the capitulation of the aforementioned territories.
Now more than ever, Napoleon was determined to drive the Austrians out of Italy. His main obstacle, however, was the strongest Austrian base in Italy: the fortress of Mantua. He had begun the siege of Mantua during his southern excursion, and now resumed it with renewed vigor.
Napoleon was able to capture or defeat all armies sent to relieve Mantua, and the city finally surrendured in January, 1797. After a brief southern raid into the Papal States, Napoloen marched north through the Alps towards the gates of Vienna, forcing Austria to sue for peace. |

 | Wyoming - The Cowboy State version 1.1 rated 3.3 (47 votes) by Mark Bauer | The dude ranches of Wyoming have been flexing their muscles. High-talkin' city folk with their corporate backing and "taste for a little western adventure" have poured seemingly endless amounts of funds into these up-start, phony, ranches. They consistently antagonize and belittle the cattle drivers and farmers of the state. Now, tensions are at a breaking point! Cowboys from around the state are breaking their beer bottles on the edge of the bar and pointing the sharp glass shards in the general direction of those they mean to inflict harm upon! Wyoming may be the least populous state in the Union, but that doesn't mean war isn't as brutal! YEEHAW!!!
Part of the Then and Now series. Check out Wyoming then in "Wyoming-Cattle Wars" |

 | The Iran Iraq War version 1.3 rated 3.3 (43 votes) by Mark Karnowski | The Iran-Iraq War: Iraq attacked Iran in September of 1980. Iraq quickly moved into Iran, but within a few months Iran regained their territory and was on the offensive for years to come. This was one of the bloodiest of all wars, most likely over one million people were killed. After eight years the war ended with a United Nations sponsored cease-fire. This time, there will be no cease-fire… |

 | Mayan City-states version 3.4 rated 3.3 (36 votes) by Crunchie Frog | The year is 600 A.D., and dozens of autonomous city-states have sprung up across the Yucatan peninsula. Two super-powers, Tikal in the crowded Petén Basin, and Calakmul in the central lowlands, are fighting to rule over all of Mayans. But they are surrounded by other, smaller powers who are determined to exert their influence. To the West, there is Pelenque, who holds the gate way to the Teotlihuacan heartland in central mexico. Uxmal and Chichen Itza have alied themselves to control the North-west. Cobá uses it's control of the port cities of Tulum and Xcaret to gain a foot hold in the North-east. And in the southern highlands, the minor powers of Yaxchilan and Copan have been forced into an alliance of convenience, in an attempt to keep control over the jade and obsidian rich mountain trade routes.
Who will unite all of the Mayans under one ruler? You decide!
Notes on game-play:
As impressive as the Mayan's technology was, they were never very good at governing areas larger than the city-state. So there are no "continents" in the usual sense. But, of course, some city-states were stronger than others. The major powers, Calakmul, Tikal, Palenque, Coba, Copán and Uxmal, are given a gold boarder and start off with a bonus of two or three. The minor powers, Edzna, Zaculeu, Kaminaljuryu, Chichen Itza, Uaxactun, Dzibanche and Yaxchilan, are indicated by light green boarders and start with a bonus of one.
One historical note: To the best of our knowledge, the minor powers of Yaxchilan and Copan were never really allies. But combining them makes for an interesting 6th player in the starting scenario. |

 | Island Warfare version 2.1 rated 3.3 (33 votes) by Ryan D | Based upon my favorite maps The River and The Confluence. It is my first time using the map generator, so please excuse the crude lines. All capitals of the countries are linked to each other. There are some bonuses out of proportion to the country size in the hope that it creates larger battles than they normally would have. Enjoy! |

|
 | Swiss Alps version 1.1 rated 3.3 (32 votes) by Laurent Cavin | The Lords of Zurich are unhappy: all other northern Lords, be it from Bern, from Lausanne or from St-Gallen control some key routes through the alps, and can levy taxes on goods transportation - and excellent source of revenue as most of the european goods have to pass the alps.
But Zurich is limited by the southern Tessino Lords that control the passes. This situation is intolerable...
A swiss map with lakes and mountains only passable where real roads or railroads have been built. "Continents" do not represent real political entities. In the south (bottom), the thick pink lines indicate two-way connections between countries (through France or Italy). |
|
 | The Battle of Tippecanoe version 2.1 rated 3.3 (31 votes) by mnemosyne | In 1811, William Henry Harrison, Governor of the Indiana Territory, marched on Prophetstown, located at the confluence of the Tippecanoe and Wabash rivers. This settlement, founded by the great Shawnee Chief, Tecumseh, and his brother, Tenskwatawa ("The Prophet"), was a place where several tribes from the area, including the Shawnee, Potawatomi, Delaware, Kickapoo, Wea, Winnebago, and Miami, came to live, work, and commune in peace. Harrison massacred the inhabitants of Prophetstown, destroyed the crops, and burned the village to the ground.
Tecumseh, enraged by this continuing aggression, travelled from Canada to Florida in an attempt to rally a confederacy of Native American tribes to resist the Euro-American "Long Knives" in perhaps their last best attempt to resist the ceaseless encroachment of the euro-american colonial invaders. Eventually, the British entered the fray in the full-blown War of 1812.
Governor Harrison was celebrated as a "war-hero" and later ran a successful presidential campaign under the slogan "Tippecanoe and Tyler, too," which referenced his "victory" at the Battle of Tippecanoe, and his Vice-President, John Tyler. Harrison died of pneumonia only one month after his inauguration, the shortest U.S. Presidency in history.
Indiana was granted statehood in 1816, and pursued a vigorous campaign of settlement and development per the vision of its infamous first territorial governor. |

 | Assault version 1.2 rated 3.2 (119 votes) by Preacherman | Lux does not get any stupider than this. If seemingly random carnage and 14 hour long games are your thing, this is the map you have been looking for.
Quick run down of the way it works - it is a standard map but there are also two airports and four ports, marked with airplanes and ships. If you control one of the two airports, you can drop troops anywhere at all with the exception of the other airport island (call it a range limitation) and the ports ('cos they are too heavily defended, or something). From the ports, you can attack any coastal territory, this includes those bordering the larger rivers. You cannot directly attack the other ports or the airports, again 'cos they are probably too heavily defended. You'll need to go via land for this.
