 | Master Detective Cluxdo version 1.1 rated 3.1 (36 votes) by Sylocat | At Mr. Quasar's country house, he was once again eliminated in a game. Your job is to help Detective Syzygy solve the mystery by matching a suspect to a map. From any room in the house (there are more of them this time!), you may attack one of 5 suspect files, and from there you may attack one of the 5 map files (pick a map you think that suspect might have used). Be warned, accusations can't be taken back, so troops moved onto the suspect files can't be returned to the house, don't get stuck!
Once again there are 5 solutions, and a correct one will get you a nifty bonus! |

 | Maryland version 1.1 rated 3.1 (34 votes) by War_Lord | My first map. Thank you all in the MapLAB for helping me get jump started. Roughly 40 hours has been put into this project. Cheesy Dialogue in the Background, but hey, this map will provide a lot of well-thought out strategy. Recommended settings: 5-10% 4 5 6 24 seconds.
Thinnest borders. Hope you enjoy! |
|
 | Ancient Near East version 1.1 rated 3.1 (33 votes) by Oomomo | Rough map of the ancient Near East. Some borders are exaggerated and estimated and the map by no means serves as a snapshot from a certain time. The idea is to focus on pre-Persian empires in the ancient Near East, with a focus on the Hittite Kingdom.
Note that rivers are crossable. |

 | Solar System Dominance version 6.3 rated 3 (78 votes) by Anon | This board is based on our Solar System. This includes the Planet Ceres which has been incorrectly classified as an asteroid. A simple adjustment to the ancient (Bodes Law) identifies Ceres as a major mass within a planetary periodicity.
**You are encouraged to snipe this; adjust it to the way you want it; and then Post it as a different scenario. Except, that you should include this message within your version of this board. Thank you.**
Allied bodies are:
Mercury, Venus, and Mars +4
Earth & Moon +6
The Planet Ceres +10
Asteroids +5
The Galilean Moons of Jupiter +5
The Moons of Saturn +4
The Rings of Saturn +2
The Moons of Uranus +3
The Moons of Neptune +3
Pluto & Charon +2
2003 UB313, the Kuiper Belt
Solar Space is divided into the Inner(+3), Middle(+5), and Outer(+3) systems.
Special connections exist between the (Rings of Saturn) and the First (Moons of Saturn).
This is a (BIG BOARD) game and could take a very long time to play. You may want to limit cards to (5,5,5). Also, turn time limit should be set higher because of the possible need to move (Big Fronts) in a multiplayer games.

 | Snakes and Ladders SI version 1.4 rated 3 (60 votes) by Sir Holo | Now with juicy overground goodness: Inspired by, but entirely different from, the ancient children's game of snakes and ladders. Yeah, the board looks similar, but the gameplay is pure Lux.
Can you figure out how to get where you want to go? The bots can. ;-)
All country borders are one-way, just follow the arrows. Rows are continents. Ladders go up, and slides go down. You'd better defend your continents well, because it's a long way back around! By necessity, 100 connects to 1.
Have fun, and comments are appreciated.

 | Rome-1st punic war 264-241 BC version 1.6 rated 3 (59 votes) by VinnyVediVici | In first half of 3rd century BC Carthage held many territories that made it easy for them to control and dominate the western Mediterranean Sea, but when they conquered the Greek city of Syracuse on the north eastern tip of Sicily in 264, they faced the Romans in war for the first time.
The locals of Syracuce had requested Rome for aid, and for many different reasons Rome came to thier rescue. The fear of a powerful neighbour was only one out of several motivations by the Romans. The promise of glory and plunder was also of great importance.
At this point in time, the world is split into several powers. By 300 BC Alexander the Great's Empire was divided among his generals: Antigonus, Seleucus, and Ptolemy. All believed that they were the rightful heirs to Alexander's Empire, and remained constantly at war. The hordes to the north have yet to be conqured by Rome. This is the state of the world, will Rome destroy Carthage, and dominate the world? Will Alexander's empire ever be united? Or will the Barbarians reign supreme? You decide.

 | Land of the Long White Cloud version 1.1 rated 3 (55 votes) by Rick Godman | A Luxer called Philip Lyth, from New Zealand, sent me a 'Thankyou' email for a couple of my other maps, so I was inspired to make one for the 'Land of the Long White Cloud'. But after about 3 attempts I still wasn't sure what era to base it on! So with a bit of modern satellite terrain, some notes of Captain Cook's, and borders that are a mix of modern electoral boundaries, Maori tribal boundaries, and just plain made up ones, plus a few inset enlargements because everyone just loves them(!), here it is! With all these mixed elements in the map it shouldn't work, but somehow it does - which sums up modern New Zealand society perfectly. Enjoy. |

 | World Fire Deluxe version 1.1 rated 3 (55 votes) by Yukala | 308 countries, 32 continents or empires and capitol cities, set on 1529 by 1242 fitting 1600x1200 dpi screeens, or generally 20 inch monitors for no scrolling. Plays fast and furious, especially when using 'hard AI's'. Includes, Indus, Mongols and Atlantis. 'Delux' version includes 11 Capitols as continents centering their respective countries. For balance and difficulty the corners are also connected, so each continent has some kind of back-door. Fun, hard and exciting. Tell me what you think! I also recommend varied AI settings and a more aggressive card sequence for gameplay. Max income can reach 349! This map spits fire.
Map LAB update: Added a Starting scenario, resized to fit on most screens. |

 | Connecticut under Siege version 1.02 rated 3 (53 votes) by Shane Hunter | The American Pirates have began a small war in Connecticut. See if you can turn back the invasion.
Pirate ships compliments of Mark Bauer's web site. |
|
 | East Asia version 2.4 rated 3 (53 votes) by Sir Loin | The "Central Kingdom" (Literal Chinese translation for China) has for 5000 years dominated this culturally diverse region of the globe with both its Confucian culture and its military might. During its spikes of influence it has made tributary nations out of Korea, Japan, and most of Southeast Asia. However, many of its "barbarian" neighbors have challenged its sovereignty. Mongolia and Manchuria have both conquered the Chinese imperial court, establishing their own dynasties, while Japan, upon emerging as the first modern Asian nation was able to successfully wrest Manchuria, Korea, and Taiwan from China's control. Will China yet again fall to one of its ambitious neighbors or will it expand its power and finally absorb the entire region into its empire?
The Southeast Asian Peninsula (Siam and Indochina) has also long been subjected to Chinese influence, and Vietnam in particularly has fiercely battled its "Big Brother" to retain its independence. Will this long oppressed region ever rise above China's shadow and become a major Asian power?
South Asia or more specifically India has had a powerful cultural influence on all of East Asia. Buddhism poured eastward out of India despite the Himalayan mountains and has become particularly important in the Southeast Asian Peninsula. Will India's military influence match its cultural influence and become a contender for China's Asian hegemony?
Will the continuous growth of Islam finally give the Malay Archipelago an upper hand? Or will the small but economically vibrant regions of Singapore and Taiwan surprise the world by creating their own empires?
With so many possibilities, only you can decide if history will repeat itself.
A few notes:
The Great Wall of China and the Himalayas are impassable barriers.
2.4 China bonus reduced to 6. South Asia bonus reduced to 3. Japan bonus reduced to 2.

|
 | Sea Beer version 1.51 rated 3 (52 votes) by top row | Happy Luxtoberfest?
Not for those in North America of the future. Global warming, melting ice caps, mutating algae, record grain crops, indiscriminant dumping of surplus grain in the ocean and lakes results in what at first was seen as the miracle of Sea Beer. This miracle of nature is only possible in northern latitude where pools of ice cap melt water and mutating algae co-exist.
What was at first a bonaza of malty goodness turns skunky when supply becomes inconsistent. North Americans, except for the non-conformist South Dry Territory residents, succumbed to the taste of Sea Beer, lost their previous national and provincial affiliations and aligned along the new beer terminal distribution areas. That's the power of the taste of Sea Beer.
Battle to control the North American Sea Beer supply.
All terminals are worth 1.

 | Foundation By Isaac Asimov version 1.1 rated 3 (49 votes) by Ledux | For twelve thousand years the Galactic Empire (Trantor), had ruled supreme. Now it was dying. But only Hari Seldon, creator of the revolutionary science of psychohistory, could see into the future - a dark age of ignorance, barbarism, and warfare that would last thirty thousand years. To preserve knowledge and save mankind, Seldon gathered the best minds in the Empire - both scientists and scholars - and brought them to a bleak planet at the edge of the Galaxy to serve as a beacon of hope for future generations. He called his sanctuary the Foundation (Terminus).
Important For Players. The black holes are true StarGates. Each one this connected with all the others and those of the 4 corners with Gaiia, Helicon, Pleuma and Gliptal IV respectively. |

 | World Religion version 1.4 rated 3 (45 votes) by Sir Loin | The bonus territories of this map are divided by the modern distributions of the major religions of the world (bonuses are determined by the number of borders):

Catholic Christianity (5)
Eastern Orthodox Christianity (5)
Buddhism (3)

 | Japoniae version 2.3 rated 3 (43 votes) by tfpunx | I flipped the map making it easier to manege the lower islands as well as better defining some country borders and lowering continent values as suggested by Mark. The northern and southern continents are very equal. 2.1 is even better. Now all I have to do is turn it into castle lux japoniae2.

 | Classic Risk Coastal Influence version 1.1 rated 3 (43 votes) by AJ Bertenshaw, Mike | This map uses the classic map, but with a twist.
