The year is 1861; the assault on Fort Sumter has caused President Lincoln to call for volunteers to put down the southern insurrection. In the wake of this action the Virginia legislator voted to secede from the Union and take up arms against the invading Union army. However, not all Virginians sympathized with the rebel cause. The western mountain counties of Virginia convened at Wheeling and decided to secede from their own state and remain loyal to the union. This has been a disastrous blow to the moral and strategic situation of the newly formed Confederate States of America. The vital railways that link the eastern and western theatres run directly through West Virginia. These railways are essential to moving men and material to the battlefield. George B McClellan has realized this and quickly set out to secure the Baltimore & Ohio (B&O) Railroad. His surprise victory at Philippi has given the "Young Napoleon" a strong advantage. But the Rebels aren't giving up so easily. A new confederate general is on the scene, Robert E. Lee, and he's ready to reverse the losses and return West Virginia into the hands of the Confederacy. In no other part of the country was the old adage "Brother vs. Brother" truer than in West Virginia. The struggle has just begun!

Big Cheese's latest attempt at consolidating power was courageously blocked by the United Soy Producers Union. Furious, the coalition of Cheese manufacturers put the lactose contingency into effect. A plan that bears striking similarities to the lysine contingency put forth by John Hammond in the late 90s. Basically, the lactose contingency withholds the precious nutrient from the diet of millions of citizens. These citizens, having become so dependent on lactose, turn into mindless zombies willing to do the Cheese makers bidding in exchange for the delicious dairy product. However, the lactose contingency backfired and the citizenry became mad, violently consuming all cheeses, even the stinky ones. As stockpiles dwindle, the populous becomes more enraged and more desperate. Now, Big Cheese has found themselves surrounded by ravenous cheese eaters bent on getting revenge! Will the lactose intolerant inherit the earth?

It is the late 1800s, the American frontier is quickly closing and with it, usable land for cattle driving. The large ranchers of Cheyenne are pushing out the small homesteaders that once called the open range their home. After a disastrous winter and severe drought, thousands of cattle were lost. The large ranching outfits began to aggressively appropriate land and control the flow of water. As tensions between the large and small cattle handlers increased, so did rustling (cattle stealing). Enraged, the large ranching companies began to lynch and burn anyone suspected of rustling. But this did not have the desired effect, the small ranchers banded together, ready to fight. In response, the large ranchers hired desperados and gunslingers from Texas to invade Johnson County, the homesteaders' stronghold. The homesteaders quickly fought back and cornered the invasion force at the TA ranch. Now, the situation for both sides is desperate, and the stakes are high. Governor Barber has requested assistance from the US military and the famed Buffalo soldiers. The frontier is burning! It's time to immortalize your name for this, is the Wild West!

Friday, April 14, 1865.

John Wilkes Booth has just shot President Lincoln at Ford's Theater in Washington D.C. Jumping from the presidential balcony, he shouts "Sic Semper Tyrannis" before fleeing out a back alleyway to a waiting horse.

In the commotion, Booth escaped capture and made it across the Navy Yard Bridge into Maryland. He received weapons at supplies at Mary Surratt's Tavern before continuing on to the house of Dr. Samuel Mudd. Dr. Mudd sets a broken leg Booth suffered in the leap to the stage and lets the men rest at his home.

Later, they continue south toward Virginia, gaining assistance from Oswell Swann, Samuel Cox and William Lucas along the way.

The union cavalry finally caught up with Booth at Garrett's Farm where he had holed up in the barn.

Now is your chance to rewrite history! Can you gather enough support from the Southern sympathizers to storm back and take Washington? Sic Semper Tyrannis!

The Wars of the Roses (1455–1485) were a series of civil wars fought over the throne of England between adherents of the House of Lancaster and the House of York. Both houses were branches of the Plantagenet royal house, tracing descent from King Edward III.

The name "Wars of the Roses" is not thought to have been used during the time of the wars, but has its origins in the badges associated with the two royal houses, the Red Rose of Lancaster and the White Rose of York. The term itself came into common use only in the nineteenth century, after the publication of Anne of Geierstein by Sir Walter Scott.

Saipan is the largest island and capital of the United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI), a chain of 15 tropical islands belonging to the Marianas archipelago in the western Pacific Ocean.

Located at latitude of 15.25° north and longitude of 145.75° east, about 120 mi north of Guam, Saipan is about 13 mi long and 6 mi wide. It is a popular tourist destination in the Pacific.

Starting Scenario:
A war has broken out on the island of Saipan as a large group of long staying guest workers and their supporters fight against the local government and the indigenous people of Saipan for their rights to citizenship or a better immigration status. The government denies all their requests and drives the guest workers to a point where they have no other option but to take up arms in their last chance to get their long overdue rights as citizens of Saipan. Will the government win and continue to oppress the nonresident population of Saipan, or will the guest workers win and take control of the island? The fate of the people lies in your hands....

On January 28, 1848 John Sutter discovered gold at his mill outside of Coloma, California. As news spread of the find, floods of people from all around the world descended upon the sleepy corner of the American west. Covered wagons dotted the landscape as travelers set out on the perilous journey through hostile Indian country, blistering deserts, and ominous mountain passes. Some chose to make the long journey by boat, which brought them to the tiny hamlet of San Francisco. By 1849, San Francisco was a bustling boomtown and the waves of eager adventure seekers continued to push the Native American and Californio populations off their traditional lands. The year is now 1850, and still the thirst for gold has not been quenched. The Californio population of the south is starting to push back, eager to regain the losses suffered during the Mexican-American War. The Northern Indians in the Siskiyou Mountains have formed an alliance, desperate to turn the tide and hold on to what is rightfully theirs. Is it too late? Will California be overrun by "forty-niners?" Or will the rush for gold be stopped in its tracks?

Inspired by Mark Bauer's U.S.A. War Zone map!

WAR ZONE - China:

2057. For 50 years, China has grown at an exponential rate in technology, industry and military might. Allowed to go unchecked, China has developed next-generation weapons capable of destroying any nation on Earth. They have surpassed the United States and become the world's sole "superpower".

With this new power, China begins wielding their influence throughout the world. They spread communism in the third world. They prop up foreign governments. And when they openly topple a few democratic nations to replace them with Chinese sympathizers, the remaining world democracies had had enough.

The president of the United States, George Bush III, decides to invade! He then looks for support, and finds it from China's neighbors, Russia to the North and India to the South. And against common wisdom, the U.S. begins a full scale land war in Asia.

The First U.S. Division, based out of the Phillipines, attacks the Southeast, targetting Hong Kong and Taiwan (reclaimed by the Chinese military in 2016). The Second Division, operating out of South Korea, attacks from the Northeast. The Indian Army focuses on capturing Tibet, while the Russian Federation Army moves in across Mongolia in the north.

Will the invading forces win, or will China hold firm? It is WAR ZONE: China!

Game notes:
- Rivers can only be crossed where marked by a bridge.
- The Great Wall of China can not be crossed.
- Cities marked with a pagoda icon provide reinforcement armies. The larger the icon, the larger the bonus.
- The two US divisions are linked by a US Navy fleet. The fleet has no income bonus.

Supplies of taxidermy alligator heads and faux driftwood are running dangerously low due to a labor dispute at the local factory. This seemingly insignificant fact has thrown the state of Florida into chaos as the tourists immediately go through tacky souvenir withdrawal and revolt against Florida's normally complacent natives. All over the state tourist hotspots become bloody battlegrounds. Florida's residents are at first in shock, but are soon forced to defend their sunny homeland against this barbaric invasion of bright shirts, slow drivers, and oversized straw hats. The tourist Mecca of Orlando is growing increasingly stronger as a constant stream of tourists fly into Orlando International Airport. Will Florida fall under the thumb of the oppressive tourists? Or will the residents rise up and proclaim; "enough is enough, no more Mickey Mouse!" You decide!

The year 2107. After decades of drilling, mining and wholesale harvesting of the Earth's natural resources, a giant void has formed under the Earth's surface. Without warning, a giant earthquake shakes the planet and the seven continents collapse upon themselves leaving giant craters in their wake. Water from all the oceans flow rapidly into the newly formed crevices, destroying all in their path. The seismic eruptions cause mountain ranges to forcefully rise up from the previous ocean depths. Everything that had been covered by water is now dry land - everything that was land, is now underwater.

Bay of Pigs Invasion
April 15 - April 19, 1961

In early 1961, a group of US-funded and supplied Cuban exiles returned to invade Cuba in an attempt to topple the communist government of Fidel Castro.

The invasion took place at the Bay of Pigs (Bahia de Cochinos) on the Southwestern coast of Cuba.

With the support of President Kennedy, the CIA, fresh off recent success in overthrowing governments in Iran and Guatemala felt confident they could take down Castro. They trained, funded and supplied over 1,500 Cuban exiles for the attack.

On the morning of April 15, the attack began with flights of B-26 Marauder and A-26 Invaders attacking airfields in the landing region. Soldiers parachuted in behind enemy lines to target strategic bridges, roads and defenses.

Meanwhile four 2,400 ton transport ships accompanied by CIA-owned landing crafts brought the ground troops. They landed at Playa Larga and Playa Giron. Unfortunately for the landing forces, what was identified as seaweed in satellite surveillance was in reality razor-sharp coral reefs, which slowed progress and sank several ships before reaching shore.

The revolutionary troops eventually landed and quickly forced back the defending Cuban militia. However once US involvement became public knowledge, air support abruptly ended. It also became apparent that Cuba had advance knowledge of the invasion and had effectively camouflaged their air force - their own planes scrambled to the skies to retaliate against the sea vessels and invading land forces.

The invading force got pinned down in the Zapata swamp by the resurging Cuban Army, and with lack of air support, they were quickly captured and defeated.

By April 21, 104 revolutionaries were dead, the rest captured. As many as 5,000 Cuban military were dead.

Now, you can recreate the invasion - Will the revolutionary forces stick to the plan and win? Or will the Cuban Army once again fend off the invaders?

Map Rules:
1) US Aircraft can only attack their designated parachute drop zones.
2) Cuban airports can attack US aircraft in addition to their neighboring countries.
3) Naval troops can only land at the marked beach coastline near Playa Larga and Playa Giron.

Story:
It is June 21, 1941, the eve of the largest land invasion in recorded history, Operation Barbarossa. Germany has amassed a gigantic army on the Russian border with one goal in mind: the total destruction of the Soviet Union. In Moscow Josef Stalin is tragically unprepared for the bloody carnage that is about to grip his country for the next three years. His paranoid purge of the Red Army has left his military disorganized and inept. Finland, attempting to regain their losses suffered during the Winter War, joins the fight against their archenemy, the Russians. Will the Soviet Union collapse before the disciplined and ruthless German army? Will Hitler succeed where Napoleon failed? Or will the Russian resolve prove to be more than the Germans can handle? The Land of OZ

First introduced by L. Frank Baum in his book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Oz is divided into several countries all ruled by a central monarch, residing in the Emerald City in the center of the map. The areas are Munchkin Country (blue), Winkie Country (yellow), Quadling Country (red) and Gilliken Country (purple). Emerald City is, of course, green.

Several notable landmarks are worth bonus points - the castles of Glinda the good and the Wicked Witch. Scarecrow's tower, The Tin Woodman's house, Cowardly Lion's Den as well as Dorothy's house. Also, the Yellow Brick Road provides a bonus and a fast track to the Emerald City.

THE KINGDOM OF AYRLAWN

King Albert III ruled the Kingdom of Ayrlawn from the fabled towers of Ayrlawn Citadel. During most of his reign, peace was the natural state of affairs and the realm prospered.

During the last years of his reign, however, the various lords began to quibble over everything, rehashing old arguments and reigniting long-dead rivalries. The king suspected it was the work of a sinister group of malcontents, but he was too busy trying to keep the King's Peace to root them out.

Finally, just before the annual Harvest Festival, King Albert and his entire family were murdered in their beds by assassins hired by the Semi-Holy Cult of Lux. With no remaining heirs, the cult seized the throne and decreed that the Kingdom of Ayrlawn would henceforth be ruled by the High Council, made up of their own members.

The various lords throughout the realm were horrified by these actions, and were surprised to find out that most of their advisors were members of this sinister cult. They resolved to band together to rid the land of these malevolent extremists.

The rebellion was put down, but with heavy costs to the realm. After the last remaining members of the Semi-Holy Cult of Lux were put to the sword, only five powerful lords were strong enough to contend for the throne:

III. Duke Bauer at Helmsgard Keep
IV. Count Daughenbaugh at Devoncourt

STORY:
Since the beginning there have been two churches, the Semi-Holy Church and the Anti-Holy Church, vying for control of Luxtopia. For years the two churches have competed for the hearts and minds of Luxtopia's citizens. The battles fought between them have been bloody, but inconclusive. This uneasy stalemate persisted for many moons. Then, in a bold and audacious move, a Semi-Holy Lieutenant out flanked the leader of the Anti-holy Church and beat him at his own game. The Anti-holy forces were forced to flee. Now, the Semi-holy forces have finally cornered the rebellious Anti-holies in their remote fortress nestled deep in the North Shore Mountains. The five ruthless and tyrannical Semi-Holy commanders have surrounded Castle Brienë and are laying siege to the revolutionaries within. With time running out and moral low, the Anti-holies stage one last offensive in a desperate attempt to turn the tide of the battle and finally secure power over Luxtopia. Lord Quasar is watching. Don't let Luxtopia fall into the wrong hands!
