SURVIVOR :: Let the Games Begin
Current rosters and scores: http://sillysoft.net/para/survivor/
---
Before the Survivor train (finally) pulls outta the station, I'd like to say a few words about Luxtoberfest so far. During the first two weeks, we played eight tournaments for a total of just under one thousand games. In terms of overall games played per week, Lux has grown from a low point of ~1700 games during the third week of August to the ~2300 last week, the most since last March and April. Granted, recent numbers include the twitch tourney, but many of those games were as long or longer than standard Classic, and last weekend's castle tourney games were even longer. I think it's fair to say things are headed in the right direction, and I hope we, as a community, can maintain this momentum for the next two weeks and beyond.
Beginning Friday, I will be online everyday from noon until midnight, until the end of this month, and I'll be ready and willing to host Survivor games for any teams who wanna play. Ultimately, I want these games to be casual, jovial, and fun. I really don't want teams to be hyper-competitive, or argue with one another about technical rules, bad moves, verbal taunts, etc. There's been enough of that sorta animus during weekend chases and past tournaments. I'd like to see our captains, lieutenants, and all players encouraging one another to come play, have fun, and congratulate one another for hard fought victories and agonizing defeats. I want Survivor to be a celebration of our mutual love of the game, our friendships, and the time we spend together in this strange little world we call Lux.
As for tomorrow, Thursday, I'd like to kick things off with a few games around 6pm eastern US time. Short notice? Perhaps, but I trust that at least two teams will be able to scare up three players each, and we'll march forward one step at a time from there.

Yes, I will be updating the map, so colors are more obvious. Yes, I will be adding host side promote and demotes, so players need not leave and come back. Yes, I'm a little rusty trying to manage the missions and such. Also, I will do up team rooms with autobooters for tomorrow's games. Your patience is appreciated as this event ramps up. Thanks.
