NOTES FOR CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL GAMES #1 AND #2

paranoiarodeo: Okay folks for the first finals game I'm gonna try something a little different ...
paranoiarodeo: In the last three weeks I've learned there are a variety of different missions types ...
paranoiarodeo: Some are blitz games where you hold a target for a single round ...
paranoiarodeo: Some are conquests where you need to hold a large portion of the map for awhile ...
paranoiarodeo: There are the vulture games where you kill your own then the other team ...
paranoiarodeo: For our first game we're gonna play a king of the hill type mission ...
paranoiarodeo: And I'll explain it here to both teams 'cause it's not that secret ...
paranoiarodeo: —> EACH TEAM WILL START WITH 100 ARMIES IN ROME OR CARTHAGE
paranoiarodeo: —> YOU MAY NOT ADD ARMIES TO EITHER CITY OR USE THEM TO ATTACK ANYTHING
paranoiarodeo: —> IF YOU DO THEN YOU TEAM WILL BE DISQUALIFIED
paranoiarodeo: —> MISSION: THE FIRST TEAM TO DESTROY THE OTHER TEAM'S CAPITAL WINS
paranoiarodeo: I will load the scenario and give both teams 10m to strategize ...
paranoiarodeo: Then I will restart and the game will begin ...

Footnote: After what I thought was a wonderful way to begin this weekend's event, I must confess that I am disappointed in myself for allowing games three and four to be played without scenarios. Quite frankly, both games did not live up to the standard I had set for myself, in terms of competitive balance, and good, honest fun. In the future, when I say, as tournament host, that I want to wait before continuing ahead, then I ask that you all respect my decision. Please do not insist that I continue hosting when I'm neither prepared nor entirely focused on the mission at hand. I know you all have differing schedules, and are eager to play, but I too have my limits, and find it difficult to say no, even though I should, when an entire room of players is urging me onward. Thanks.

CHAMPIONSHIP BATTLE ROYALE DAY TWO

Games three and four have been stricken from the record.

We will resume the match at 4pm Eastern US with both teams at one game apiece.

I think their tiny little hamster arms are too small to reach the keyboard.

Huge congratulations to the Hamsters!

To come back from 1-3 down when i thought the bonzai's has a healthy lead to winning 5 out of the next 6 games for 6-4, that is a tremendous effort.

And special thanks to para, for all the hours he put into hosting, setting up the games and creating scenarios for the some of the most intense games i've played. My first survivor turned out to be an awesome experience :D

BONZAI!

Congrat survivors, well played hamsters and great hosting Para... thanks for reviving this tourney Big Kahuna!

I would also like to thank the members in my team, the sexiest of all still, specially those who did their best to show up on time for crucial games.
hats off to our dear lieutenant manimal, but mostly to Gypsy who played 9 games out of 11 in the preliminary round.
Big thank you to Capicola, animechess and smashley for great results.
but also for cuflea, deepblue, djdee and Pauley for showing up when the team needed them.

I sincerely apologize for missing the final round due to an important business trip, wish I was there to avoid the forced forfeit.

hope we will have better luck next year champs :)

Yes,,, I would like to Thank Para,,, most of all for the enormous time and effort he put into making this the most enjoyable and memorable TOURNAMENT I have played in during my 4 or 5 years here.

It was an enjoyable event !!!! Also,,,, I commend the BONZAI team, especiallly MILLTYCOON for the tremendous play time and dedication to the event. In the Beginning, it seemed they were the only team here. Millty did a great job of organizing his team.

Lastly, Congratulations to the Ferocious Hamsters ( whom i refer to as the RAT PACK ) , especiallly LANTERN, who was a great team capitian, sending pm's and keeping our team together, with the Sandy Storm, and him leaving for vacation,,,,,, he spent as much time as possible keeping our team notified.

Well,,,, I prolly talked too much,,,, SO i shall end it the way Lantern would......

Congratulations to the Hamsters for a well fought and deserved victory! The competition was fierce and thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you para for your excellent host and a near flawless tourney (a remarkable feat). The scenario starts for the finals were superb laying out a foundation of solid equal starts that could be switched just like changing court sides at half time. Genius!

Thank you Millty for your hard time and consideration. I was happy to play with you and the other badass Bonzia!

Looking forward to gaming with you all in the near future! But for now... I must get some work done.

Peace
