hi there,
network games are often really quite fun. However, some players who host games are a tad impatient when they are losing, such that when they are defeated (or even set into a less advantageous position) they (the host) will terminate their own game session which ends the game, decreases the fun and increases the frustrations of remaining players. Is it possible to implement a peer-to-peer protocol? Or to let the computer assume the playing of an exited player's position?
Also is it possible to implement a host filter, such that i can have my lux client ignore players who repeatedly behave as desribed above?
thanks much.

The main problem with a peer-to-peer networking model is that it would require every player to have the proper firewall/router setup to allow incoming connections. Lots of people don't have this setup properly, so it would prevent them from playing online. On top of that, it would be much harder for me to implement and maintain. So the current networking model is here to stay.
My advice is simply to remember the shitty hosts that quit after they have lost and not play with them again. There has already been one post in this forum warning about a host that does this.

I can appreciate that
Yes, ALexis,
I feel ya, I thought at first my airport had gone dead, but obviously someone was impatient. I believe that the host would be able to start another game with the old one s/he lost in the background, right?
This is great, haven't had this much fun since late night games in college with my roommate on a Centris!
