October 10-11th - Teams Weekend

Saturday 10th - Sunday 11th, TeamPlay Lux Tournament

Time: all weekend

This tournament will consist of 1 or more rooms playing Team games. If you've never played a Team Lux game, look at the TeamPlay page in the wiki.

Scoring is displayed on the Team results page:
http://sillysoft.net/lux/rankings/team/

Each team needs to play at least 50 games minimum to get a score, which will be the (points/games) average.

You will be assigned to a team when you show up, if you don't have one already. Your team will show beside your name when you do the /u command. Teams are matched up with similar colors in games.

Sometimes a Reaper team will get put in the game. In such a case, it's not bots-first. It's every team for themselves!

I'm leaving the room up overnight, I'll be around tomorrow to change the map and answer questions.

Also noticed when a team member leaves the room (disconnected, etc. ), neither a bot nor another member takes over.

Any chance on more rooms? That room is boasting near 20 people!

And it'd be great for map/setting change or somethin

ARs = Also Rans

When your team plays in a game and you don't get a first, second, or third spot.

I should probably change it to just be called Losses.

wait you make it sound like its possible to get something other than a 1st 2nd or 3rd or do you mean just not getting a 1st?

Remember ... 4 points for 1st ... 2 points for 2nd ... 1 point for 3rd ...

So ... 2v2v2 games ...

If your team places 1st and 2nd ... like this ... you get 6 points ...

Or 1st and 3rd ... like this ... you get 5 ...

Or 2nd and 3rd ... like this ... you get 3 ...

(In a 3v3 game, a team sweeping the top 3 positions would receive 7 points.)

Seriously, I wish someone had mentioned this earlier. I don't know why it is expected that we would know all of this. From where would we know this? This is the first time that I participate in first Lux.

I must note that the wiki is not very clear about this. I interpreted that as the placement of the team, not the individual.

can u pls explain how the average is measured? what criterias are used?

you collect all the points for your team

that is shown in the team rankings.

divide that by the amount of games

and voila you have an average of 2.xx etc.

Team with the highest average WINS

So the goal is to try and get the highest average within 50 games and not overly exceed those amount of games.
The more you play, logically your average might decrease slightly.

Last year MFS had a great run playing 50 games (and the most wins among all teams) but lost by LCS
because they were able to have slightly better average because they only played 20 games.

Ok, so suppose we stop at 50 games. Or we want to stop. How can we make the other team games from stop playing? Some of us seem to lack some discipline. eh....

The only thing I suggest on doing, is keeping a member in the channel to let any other members know not to play... this wont work in all cases though so good luck.

Lies
We (at this moment)
rank THIRD in Points,
rank FOURTH in Avg.

But we're ranked SECOND?

I've tweaked the team assigner to hopefully give more new players to teams that don't have many.

But I think the real problem is that we have too many different teams. This also makes it tough to have multiple rooms open at once.

So... the 1 or 2 bottom human team at the end of this tournament is going to get disbanded! Their members spread on the wind of other teams. Fight for your life teams!!!

Raw whores should be disbanded,
for their lack of involvement.

i don't think the monkeys should though.
They tried and simply failed.

you can't count the bots as a real team since they don't get a lot of plays anyway and people usually tend to target them first.

if 2 human teams were disbanded, that would leave 4 team fighting for 3 awards.

where is the fun in that.

Changing the game to 3v3 at the last minute and allowing team SED to play 10 games with bots winning 7 of them of course is ridiculous. But then again i guess the only way they can win is against bots.
