Luxtoberfest 13 :: Fortune's Fool
What do you see in the crystal ball? Golden glory or a fool's walk off the edge of a cliff?
October hosts our thirteenth annual Luxtoberfest event, surely a lucky numbered event...
Edit to add:
Luxtoberfest 13 Award Winners so far...
Here's the schedule of events, subject to tweaks still, and we should have some forum games happening as well. Stripped down in scale compared to some past years, based on the online activity we have, to still hit some of the favorite bits.
October 1-2nd :: Twitch Lux - FAST turn times lighting speed games!
October 8th :: All-Time High Seeds Tournament - Welcoming the best player's of Lux's history to return for a championship bout! We will be hosting 2 sessions, scheduled to fit for Americas and Europe respectively.
October 10-12th :: Classic Craze - Only classic maps online for these two days!
October 15th :: Kill The King - Come try and knock Dustin off his throne!
October 17-19th :: Roman Renaissance - Only rome maps online for these two days!
October 30th :: Lux Awards Voted Ceremony

With all the effort you've put into this you could have at least come up with a catchier nasty nickname. I mean come ON where did you learn to name call? Kids these days.
Well since the nickname wasn't nasty or catchy enough to keep me away, maybe I'll pop in and say hi during Luxtoberfest.

No effort at all,,, just a copy and paste of a conversation.
If he really cared,,, he would just let Paranoiarodeo back and let the community continue.
And , he could go back and burn some men for a few years.
JUST SAYING.........................................

For sure the negativity will not help this game much.If people dont like the way the game is going or Dustin way of managing it they should just leave. As far as the Luxtoberfest is going memory,Twicht, and team are not in.........They have always been around for years and its the only time of the year we can play it,Or people want to play it.

Twitch appears to be Oct 1,2.
But team games require an active and capable host to organize more than simply setting the settings for the day to whatever map...

And enough players to make teams?
It seems like a reasonable schedule to me, given the realities of Lux in 2016. GFips has also kindly offered to host a Ladies Tournament, if there is interest. Just let him know.

Are we gonna allow Rich Girl to participate or will be stuck with antiquated cisgendered divisions?

It's amazing how you can not view the forum for years and instantly be thrust back in to people mindlessly complaining.
If you don't like the game leave, and George, who cares if Para plays or not. All he ever did anyways was occasionally mention he was sipping scotch.
I wish I had more time to play, hopefully I'll get the chance to pop in for a game. Unfortunately the classic games are on two days I'll be at a concert in the desert, but I'll swing in if I can.
Thanks Dustin for keeping the traditions and the game going!

Be welcome!
For the twitch tournament you both are a bit too late, but in all other events you can still participate. No signsups required - just come and play.
The All-Time High Seeds Tournament has a limited numbers of players (depending on the highest seed ever of the present players), but all other events are free for everybody to participate.
This Luxtoberfest is a smaller one because of the amount of Players around. But if there is enough interest, we could still add some more Events (e.g. memory, ...). So let us know what you miss ... (watch this thread for further infos all over october).
Like TSK said: I would offer to host a ladies tournament if you ladies manage to find a shedule to play ... .

Teams. The greatest thing about Luxtoberfest ca. 2009 were the team events. Bowling. Football. Survivor. The more I think of it, it is possible that Bowling may not have been a team event, but it should have been.
We can always have a day when a dozen people pile into a Classic room and play enough Classic to satisfy that itch. It doesn't happen that often, but it could happen on any random Thursday evening. Someone wants to open a Twitch room on a weekend, we play 30 games of Twitch (which is about all most people can handle, and the games often tend to go quickly), that satisfies that urge for another month or two.
The team events happen NEVER (other than Castles), because it requires changing the rules and getting coordination from players, etc. They should be a priority during the one time of year when we're most likely to see veterans engaged in the rooms.

I fully agree with you. Unfortunately it would probably be difficulty to organize a tournament with teams and finding the times when all can participate. We do not have too many active players around. But hell yes, a short team event would be great fun!
Who else would be interested in a team tournament? Maybe we can put something up ... (dreams always die last)

Reason: FYI: Dustin added the links to each individual tournament forum thread. He did this step by step when the events started (so the edit tag count rised up ...). But for your joy I now edited this one 5 times :-)
