It is possible to use a proxy or vpn but abusive proxies and vpn's might be blocked automatically.

I know proxy ip in browser works for sites, but not sure how I would do that for lux.

As far as i know a proxy only changes the ip of your browser while a vpn changes the ip adres for all your outgoing internet connections, so also lux. A vpn is fully encripted and gives a lot more privacy than a proxy. But there are many different kind of proxies.
According to the forum rules its not allowed to use a vpn/anonymizer.
8. Do not use an anonymizer service to hide your IP address. If we see this, we'll assume you're a previously banned user and take appropriate action.
This is not a rule in the online play lux rules but for me it should be. That wouldnt be nice in your case but its better against people who mean harm to lux.
I think we should hear what Dustin has to say about this. I know you dont mean harm but most people using a vpn here in lux have something to hide.

If you're in China or other countries that harsh on the internet, using a VPN would be OK. At your company, it's up to you to determine what acceptable internet use is.
I guess I'm saying just using a VPN isn't against the SIllysoft terms of use, if you have a good need for it. However, any signs of abuse or shady business from behind a VPN will be treated more harshly.
