Map Ideas
Hi guys. I've seen a couple of threads started where luxers state what maps they would like to see. How about a central thread "sticky" where someone can throw out a map they want to see?
Space Maps
I'd like to see another map in the style of "Earth vs Mars", but on the moons of Jupiter or Saturn or both. The map design is very pretty and the country shapes are well-chosen for space, the terrestrial bodies, and the starship fleets.
Seeing as the map is from Sillysoft, may I also suggest that the starship icons be considered as a launch pad for "Space" army pictures? Just "Space" army pictures alone would spice up those hex maps (A black field with colored hexagons never really gives me the feeling of space).

here is my re-imagining of the world of seeker:
taken from The Sword of Truth original map
.
if someone would do the territories and all the luxification stuff, i will do the overground (as i have all the graphics anyway.)
to be hosted on the lux underground map site.
(if i can ever get ahold of sylocat.)

I am considering a map looking at the siege of Constantinople in 1453 that ended the Byzantine Empire and saw the Ottoman empire say 'thanks but no thanks' to Christendom. By some historian's book it marks the end of the middle ages... an interesting moment possibly worth a look at?
I know there's a Byzantine map LF did recently but this will be a siege map just looking at the city and it's fortifications.
Hope it hasn't already been done - if not i think i'll get to it.

I actually tried to come up with several ideas along this theme, but they were either uninteresting to play (very linear), or required fluent knowledge of music theory.dustin wrote:What about a map based on a progression of musical notes? Like the sheet music of a song, each note a country. Just throwing the idea out there for you map-makers.

I was really surprised not to see a well made popular map of the greatest conflict which ever took place so I decided to start working on it - WW II The Russian Front. The war between the Russians and the Germans, also know as The Eastern Front or the German-Russo War.
Other map ideas (which I haven't completely confirmed if it has already been suggested or it already exist) are the Battle of Gettysburg, D-Day, Battle of the Bulge, the Colonization of America, Romance of the III Kingdoms (would have to be a different name due to copyright laws), Halo Wars Risk and Lord of the Rings Risk (again with different names),

I was thinking a Gangs of London or Urban Warfare or something similar.
I made a prelim version but it is fugly and I am not artistic although it played pretty good. Got all the connections fixed, etc. But it def. needs help of someone with time/expertise.

I've been thinking of doing a pre-human history map.
Just now I stumbled across a Cretaceous Lux map while doing some research so I won't go there again.
Assuming a pre-cretaceous map hasn't already been done I was thinking the late Jurassic world had a interesting look to it - It's called the The Malm Epoch and would take us back a mere 161 to 146 million years.
The world was broken into two supercontinents back then, a northern Laurasia and a southern Gondwana. Sounds pretty simple huh - ideal for the large brainless lizards that stomped about back then and newbs trying to path the map in the present day.
Despite the Jurassic tag i'll be avoiding dinosaur references in this one.
