Imperium Romanum Expletus

Post by Lupus ferox » Mon Apr 19, 2010 1:17 am

The new extended Imperium Romanum (Expletus) map is ready. It includes contemporary France and England, with Lutetia (Paris) and Londinium as additional cities (total of 6 now). At the moment the guys and girls of MAPLAB are having fun with it, and Naraku Smurf is hosting an unapproved version (only playable for those of you who have access to the BETA maps i guess). So soon in your theater.......

I'm very excited and have downloaded the map. About to start playing, and probably losing to my wife (who should rule the world with her mad lux skillz).

I've noticed the foreground seems kind of off :?

Was playing this a bit last night, great map! One problem, today I read I need to update the map because my lines are all wrong now. I assume their is an update... but when I remove and reinstall, same problem with the lines being off. Any help?

Looks fine on my end.

Did you happen to play the map before you installed the new version?
When playing a map before you do an update on it, even though now you have the new files, Lux keeps the old background/overground in its cache.
If so, have you tried restarting Lux and then opening the new version of the map again?

does that fix the problem or are the lines still appearing to be off?
if so post an screenshot if you can please.

I suck at posting pics in the forum.

You can see the screen shots here though:

try uninstalling the map, restarting lux, and then re-download it.

see if the fixes the problem.

Removed map in plugin manager.
Quit Lux
Start Lux
Install map in plugin manager.
Quit Lux
Start Lux

Same shadowy problem.

2.0 is the version.

ok, after testing this out, when you uninstall, Lux removes the luxb file but not the theme pack
(the reason might be because some themes are shared by more than one map and thus removing it might brake others)

My last suggestion is
  • uninstall the map,
    close lux
go to your theme folder (for windows it would most likely be C:\Program Files\Lux\Support\Themes\
and delete the folder named IRexp

    after you do that,
restart lux and download the map again.
If that doesn't work i'm out of ideas.

PS. The other more simple solution would be for LF to upload an updated luxb file Version 2.01 (no need to re-upload the theme, just the luxb file)
That will automatically trigger for everyone to re-download the theme.

Uninstalled, trashed the theme folder and reinstalled but nothing expletus was to be had.

Nasty case of Imperium Romandum Exitium.

top ten

The map just entered the top ten list of most played on-line maps.

Luxtober is a good moment to do so...
