Pictures and Text in the Background

Post by xSquallx » Fri Jan 07, 2005 9:56 am

Hey everybody, I'm super noob to the game and i was just wondering how people manage to put graphics and text in the background of their maps. ex. Roman Empire Circa 300AD, or another similar map.

Thanks

If you make a custom theme it must contain a background file (usually in the form of a .jpg) this must be the exact same dimensions as the map and constitutes all the images you see in the background behind the countries, ie. water, clouds, directions, etc. There is also an optional foreground image that can be included (also usually a .jpg or .png file) this must also be the exact same dimensions as the map and constitutes the images seen "underneathe" the countries, in other words it makes the countries look as if there is an opacity to them. If no foreground image is included it will default to one provided by Lux that simply looks like a bumpy terrain.

does that help?
