The map of Virginia is done, except for a theme. If someone would volunteer to do a theme for the map, I'd me much obliged. Not only am I a terrible graphics person, my copy of GIMP is non-functional, and I have dial-up, making a download unfeasible. If there are volunteers, e-mail me, and I'll send you the map file.
Thanks,
emr
EDIT: mbauer volunteered to produce the theme for Virginia. Thanks a lot.

delaware is done. however, i added in one country that is the jersey shore. this country connects to most of the other countries. this adds a really different strategical twist to the map. i noticed barstar's oklahoma map didn't count because it was missing part of the state. would this not count because it has an additional land mass or will this work just fine?

Just a suggestion: (this isn't directed at anyone in particular)
A strict county interpretation isn't always the best route to take, after all the county borders weren't made with Lux in mind.
But if you do plan on doing the county layout, how about adding in some natural barriers (rivers, lakes, mountains, forests, etc.) to create more chokepoints/bottlenecks, which usually makes for a better strategic map.

∞ Cuarto feels as though this comment is directed at him, despite mbauer's denial of it being directed at anybody. ∞mbauer wrote:Just a suggestion: (this isn't directed at anyone in particular)
i will consider it, but i guarantee that if i attempt so much it will look as though a kindergartener had drawn it.

Take him at his word - I got the same feedback for Louisiana when I did that map. If you look at the states that have been done, many (probably most) follow the "each county is a Lux country" and state "regions" are continents with little or no other boundaries or obstacles. I think with the resurgence of interest in the states series, he is just throwing it out there (correct me if I am wrong Mark)
I'm going to try to do some state maps with some geographic borders as well as political ones.

Virginia is done, and is in the Plug-in Manager as a BETA map.

Arkansas Beta on its way
I should be uploading a beta of Arkansas tonight. 75 counties... First version is all counties connected, trying to decide on continents... Round 1 may be either congressional districts or "geographic regions"....
Hmm...
