Mafia XL- Space Knights



Many moons have passed since the forgotten battle between the Synths and original Human colonizers took place. Thousands of generations of humans have lived and died on Europa, but the planet's lack of a natural fuel source eventually led to the collapse of society. Billz Industries, the corporation that ran everything from being the forefront of scientific advancement to social order has long since fell apart due to greed and corruption. Violent wars and solar storms have reduced any remainder of technology to shambles. Humanity regressed into a tribal state, with walled cities and kingdoms taking control of the precious resources, with the unfortunates left to scavenge in the desolate lunar wastelands.

Might is right, and those who were not afraid to use their swords have profited greatly from the chaos. In the up-and-coming kingdom of Entropy, where such a King as described has brought great wealth to his people, a new threat rises from the horizon. The enigma only spoken about in whispers and who is only known as the Lord of the Hoard has set about to conquer this Kingdom. His reach is great, and he has many within his grasp, known as the Order of the Dying-Sun. A warlord as fierce as he knows the value of his warriors, and rather than lead them in a headlong charge into victory, prefers to use the art of deception and infiltration to take his new Kingdom from within. Will the citizens of Entropy hold true to their King or will the Lord of the Hoard laugh vilely from the head of his new throne?

Roles

Inhabitants of Entropy:
King of EntropyThe King is responsible for the success of Entropy, and commands the respect (and obedience) of all his subjects.

*Can investigate one player to find out where their loyalty lies.
*A knight would sooner fall upon his sword than attack his King.

Red Moon Priest - Some say the Red Moon Priest was birthed from the Red Storm of Jupiter.

*The Priest calls upon the holy light of the moon to bathe his chosen in a protective light.
*Cannot protect the same player twice in a row.

Kingsguard - The most elite of the King's soldiers, don't try anything silly on his watch.

*Charged with protecting his king, he can block one players' actions every night.

Lunar Knight - A zealot, would more gladly die in his service than disavow his fervent nature.

*Can choose one target to attack each night; will know who his squire is.
*Dies if he targets his King or the Berserker.

Steadfast SquireThis likable devil is bolstered by the presence of the Knight.

*Cannot die if his knight lives (except from a curse); will know who his knight is.

Wench or she-who-has-known-the-man-in-the-moon - Be wary of this lustful, yet observant creature once you are in her grasp.

*Sleeps with a target to watch their interactions, but not their nature.

Maiden of the Moon - Sworn to the moon, few are privy to her knowledge.

*Has an additional secret vote that removes 1 vote from her target; does not have to be same target as her daily vote.

Loyal Retainer - A well-respected citizen of Entropy.

*Subtracts 1 vote count from his tally.

Lone Wolf:

Hedgeknight - More prone to wander than settle down, his loyalties are as wavering as the moongrass upon which he walks.

*Wins if he survives until the end of game.

Order of the Dying-Sun:
Lord of the Hoard - Fearless leader and rapscallion, none dare disobey his command.

*Sends one member of his Hoard (including himself) each turn for a kill attempt.
*Immune to investigation.

Soothsayer - The bones and feathers of this knave's trade have more to say to him than most people.

*Can target one player each turn to learn two roles at random that he/she is NOT.
*Attacks normally.

Dying-Sun Crone - Many have fallen under the evil sway of this old Crone

*Kill attempt is a curse, but does not work against red moon priest or moon maiden.
*Only player able to kill the Steadfast Squire while his Knight is alive.
*Will not bed with the wench.

Berserker - The fiercest of warriors, his blood lust is unrivaled.

*Not even the Lunar Knight's sword can best his axe.
*Can kill target under Priest's protection.
*33% chance to miss on kill attempt.

Dying-Sun barbarian - Barbarian see enemy, barbarian kill enemy.

*Attacks normally

Rules
1. The game starts at Night. All Days and Nights are 24 hours, starting at 10pm and ending at 9:59pm the next day. All times are PST.
I will announce when night phase begins/ends, however any votes/decisions that I receive with a time tag that is after the deadline will not be counted, regardless of whether or not I announced the phase end.

2. At night, PM your actions to me.
3. During the day, all players can vote to Lynch a player. The player(s) with the most votes against them will be Imprisoned, and may not take any action at Night. If there’s a tie, multiple players will be Imprisoned. Players in Prison can’t do any actions. At dawn the following morning, one player (randomly chosen from those in Prison) will be Hung Until Dead. Any other player(s) will be returned to the game.
4. You can abstain from voting, but you have to say abstain. Players who don’t abstain and don’t vote will have a vote cast against themselves.
5. Put the name of the player you’re voting for in bold.
6. Don’t post PMs, jerks.
7. Don’t edit your posts. If you do, I will unleash some narrational fury all up on you.

Win Conditions

The Order of the Dying-Sun win when they outnumber the Inhabitants of Entropy.
The Inhabitants of Entropy wins when all members of the Order of the Dying-Sun are dead.
The Hedgeknight wins if he/she survives until the end, and can win with either a Dying-Sun or Entropy victory.

WIP (work in progress)
Obviously, I have never hosted a Mafia game before (and I have only played a few mafia games). This is my first attempt to do so. I took Dolla's last game since it was so successful and used it as a blueprint with my own variants in it. I am open to suggestions/changes in order to balance the game or make it more fun. Don't hesitate to let me know what you guys think either below or in PM. The game will start when we get a good base of players, hopefully sooner than later. A king/knight based mafia theme seemed appropriate to keep in conjunction with the upcoming Castles tourney.

Right now the Mafia game is scheduled to start ~Feb. 12th or the 13th, so dolla can play.

This is contingent upon getting a good number of players so we can have all roles filled. I would prefer to wait a little longer to get a game going than rush it and have to take out 1 or more of the roles. If you guys want it to start on Feb. 12th I will listen to the majority.

Let me know what you guys want to do...

It looks like we have 15 players right now, meaning unless there are any objections the game will start on Feb. 12th or the 13th.

Hopefully we can get Kjos and a few more peeps to jump in. 20 Players would be pretty badass.

To clarify: If the Wench chooses the Dying-Sun Crone as her target to bed with, the Dying-Sun Crone will not reveal any possible interactions she had, both players will survive.
